A Houston institution now with a great place to serve customers on the fashionable west side. Just go get a frozen Ninfarita. (I just wish they offered a larger size Ninfarita.)

Heard that this place was a great and long standing, go to place for tex mex in Houston. It did not disappoint. They took simple concepts that people are used to seeing on Tex-Mex menus and just elevate them. Crab tostadas as well as the chicken mole were what I had and all the flavors just melded together beautifully. Staff was friendly and outgoing. Atmosphere was warm and colorful. Noise level was appropriate. Cannot recommend enough.

Ninfa's Uptown used to be one of my favorite tex-mex spots. Not sure what has happened, but they changed their chips to hard, thick, overly fried chips that are truly difficult to chew. Also, queso was different on this visit...similar to stadium cheese.... tangy and bright orange. My favorite cripsy ground beef taco has changed as well. The once thin and perfectly crispy taco shell is now thick and hard to bite into. The ground meat wasn't the same either. Overall, I'm disappointed to see one of my favorite restaurants change so many things for the worse, and for the quality to go downhill.

We attended for my daughter’s birthday at the Uptown location for brunch. Everything was great. Our waiter was Carlos and he was very attentive and friendly. My only feedback regarding brunch is that the food menu is very limited and does not include some other Mexican favorites like barbacoa. The sopapillas for dessert were delicious!

Some friends were visiting from out of town, and wanted Mexican food; we brought them here because it was very close to the hotel where they were staying. This was a first visit for all of us. All four of us really enjoyed our food. The portions are quite generous, so we had enough to take home for another meal. The meal prices were reasonable, but I do think $14 for a cocktail is ridiculous. Our waiter was as pleasant and attentive as he could possibly be, given that this was 7 PM on a Friday night and the place was packed. We did not feel at all rushed, which tells me that they are skilled at scheduling reservations so that everyone has time to enjoy their meal.

Food was great, but service was terrible. There was just one server waiting on so many tables; and barely was able to attend to eat table fairly…Ruined the experience

The food and the service is always great! They went above and beyond for us this time. We were a large group running late and later trying to get out of the rodeo and they were super understanding and took great care of us when we finally arrived.

It’s become very expensive for the kind of food and drinks served. Margaritas are very diluted and the food was mediocre at best. It used to be so much better. Poor vegetarian choices.

I had the shrimp taco from the happy hour menu as an appetizer and then the Del Mar enchiladas with blue crab, shrimp, and chipotle cream sauce. It was all amazing. The famous Ninfa’s green sauce was perfect as always. And the service I received from Benni and Rafael was top notch. Benni really carried with her the spirit of Mama Ninfa. She took excellent care of me.

Both food and service were very good. Our server, Celest, was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Fajitas and chili rellenos were very good, and the green salsa was excellent.

my second trip here. took colleagues with me this time. Unique place with some traditional and non traditional dishes. This place has a history that is interesting. culturally significant here where there are so many chain restaurants. worth a visit. food is fresh. they do need more desert options. but you come here for tex mex..... real tex mex

Refreshing blending mexican and american dishes in non-traditional ways. The salsa and chips that come out complimentary are warm and quite good. 2 salsas to choose from. I ordered Caldo Xochitl soup. It's a Mexican take on mazoball soup made with a corn meal instead of mazo. The broth is loaded with big chunks of chicken. the soup is large . I also ordered the musicos tacos Spicy Pork Carnitas, Cilantro, Onion, Avocado, Chicharron, Salsa Tomatillo, and Corn Tortillas Was unique. I liked these for a change from typical taco meals. I was disappointed that, for one man, they limited my reservation times, so I had to eat off the typical times one would for lunch (11am was only time I could reserve before 2pm) I started a res for 2 people and I had all the times available. I understand that for dinner, that one is not as profitable. I'm a bit surprised they did this at lunch, too. I could not order any desert, which they kept pushing me to have. I don't drink. But the server kept pushing a margaritas key lime. essentially a keylime they pour magarita over. I had to say no more than once. i had too much food, not realizing the size of the soup. The cappuccino was OK at best.

We had business friends in town from Italy and wanted the "original" food. I remembered Ninfa's original on Navigation when I lived here in the '80's. So met at Uptown Ninfa's. Had a great meal and drinks - service was spot on too. When we come back will return. Our Italian friends loved the Tacos al Carbon. Thanks.

The food was great as always. I go there often and well definitely be back. I do wish they go back to their old chips, their new chips are harder than I would prefer. But other than that, great place, great good, you should try it out.

Went over for lunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday and it was good. We ordered a hibiscus margarita that was good. It had a great flavor and it was nice and strong. To eat we order the large chicken and beef fajitas with rice and I had the refried beans and she had the charro beans. They were okay. The meat was a bit chewy for my liking and overall there was nothing mind blowing about it but just okay. I had their flour tortillas and I was not impressed by them , they got a little hard after a while. I would definitely come back for their margarita though.

Gloria was Glorious! Our dinner was great and staff was very attentive. It was a post-Marathon meal celebrating our son’s finish with Tex-Mex. Couldn’t have asked for more.
