The Musket Room is a modern restaurant that serves authentic New Zealand cuisine in comfy rustic settings, enhanced by a 20-foot timber bar, lime-washed exposed bricks and a lovely garden. Inspired by the beauty of his home, Chef Matt Lambert champions a menu that offers modern interpretations of New Zealand classics, using ingredients sourced from the restaurant's own garden. Menu highlights include the red deer, smoked scallop, gazpacho and quail. For a memorable dessert, try the passion fruit Pavlova. Guests can order a la carte or opt for the restaurant's multi-course menu. The Musket Room also offers a special vegetarian menu for guests. Settle in for a delicious dinner and complement your meal with a drink from the bar. The Musket Room serves homemade sodas, juices and creative cocktails. The bar also boasts an extensive wine list, which includes a fine selection of New Zealand varietals among other options.

There was a fire next door , strong smell of smoke in dining room , noise above us because firefighters had to go through roofs . Eventhough restaurant was not reponsible for this incident that has obliged us to move from dining room to the bar because my mother got anxious ( we were celebrating her birthday and restaurant knew ) , we would have appreciated a little gesture such as a glass of sparkling or something like that - just as as recognition that evening has not been as serein as expected. Thank you

Food and atmosphere are absolutely fantastic. But the service was even better. The staff makes you feel like a welcome family member and goes out of their way to treat you in a friendly and engaging manner. One of my new worldwide favorites....

second time dining at The Musket Room, and it was just as memorable this time as the last. One of the best restaurants we've eaten at in NYC

i do remember not enjoying it and i can't remember one single dish except for the broccoli soup which was ok. michelin star worthy? no. an acceptable place if they tone it down and take them selves a tad lighter. and by the way, loose the bread cause it's not good.

We came to celebrate a birthday. The food was delicious. It was innovative, well-executed, thoughtful, and beautifully plated - everything you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. The main dining room is very busy, though, with food being bussed in and out of the formal dining room into the bar room area. In addition, all of the wine appears to be stored against one wall in the dining room. While interesting to look at, the sommelier constantly running back and forth added to the business. Part of the charm were the old oak floors, though what this meant was that passing servers etc. made the floor sag - which in turn made my chair sag. Nevertheless, the food was worth the trip and the value of the menu was excellent. Oh, and the breads!

Really enjoyed the rustic atmosphere coupled with the refined yet unpretentious service. The food was beautifully simple but inventive. The sommelier provided delightful wine pairings. Also, can't beat the goodie bag to go!

I recently had the 6 course tasting menu at the Musket Room and I was both pleased and impressed. While the food was excellent (and one fish course in particular was exquisite), the service was particularly notable. The waitstaff and kitchen at this restaurant were enormously caring and accommodating, preparing custom alternative dishes for me to accommodate both my tastes and food allergies. It was quite a special meal at a very reasonable price. Their wine list and Sommelier were also notable, as I enjoyed their recommendations.
