The Mermaid Inn is a warm, friendly, casually sophisticated neighborhood meeting place for dining, drinking and socializing. We serve seafood inspired from the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean. All our food is extremely fresh. “From the sea to the table” is how we like to put it. Happy hour Monday-all day, Tuesday-Sunday from 4:30 - 6:30 pm. $1.50 oysters & clams, drink specials and Mermaid favorites like our fish tacos, shrimp sliders and more. Food "good". Exceptionally noisy last night. Service ok. Read bill carefully; were charged extra for "parker roll"(?) which we didn't order. Happy Hour is best value at Mermaid Inn; if you can handle noise.

We were seeing a performance so booked an early dinner so was surprised at how busy it was when we arrived. However we were seated right away. Server name on our receipt was Alicia and she was really nice and knew the menu. Food was all good and we took advantage of the HH special apps which I M guessing is why it was so busy so early. Love the atmosphere at this location, definitely my favorite of the Mermaid restaurants. We will definitely be back. Looking forward to seeing what the UWS one will look like when that opens up.

Am a huge fan of Mermaid Inn in general and the Chelsea location is great! I live on the Upper West Side and until the re-launch of Mermaid in my neighborhood, I will gladly make the trip to Chelsea!

Lovely brunch spot! My wife and I celebrated Mother's Day with brunch at the Mermaid Inn. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated by the friendly and gracious host. The wait staff executed the perfect balance between being attentive and not hovering. The ambiance was very nice, and the noise levels, to which I'm sensitive, was quite manageable. The food was outstanding - smoked fish platter and fish tacos were both fresh and flavorful. Their non-alcoholic drinks were a tad pricier than expected but were delicious. This is a place to which we're excited to return.

Fantastic Saturday Brunch. Staff are amazing, food is perfect, lots of tables and great space. Oysters to start were perfection. My wife and I both thought entries were excellent. A table of four , with one parent and three young children was handled without hesitation. I wish we lived in the neighborhood and could become regulars. When in NYC, we will make sure to return.

Mermaid Inn Chelsea always delivers! Their business model includes fresh and savory foods, as well as the cleanest raw oysters I've ever had! Calimari is the best -- crispy, served nice & hot with tasty sauce -- and the happy hour prices are totally reasonable. Nice wine selection too.

We had the best waiter, cheerful, attentive without being overbearing, and was instrumental in making our evening lovely. Food was good, we concentrated on happy our snacks and were happy with everything we ate. I had very nice wine, my companion had a hot and dirty. On the whole delightful, capped by the famous chocolate pudding, so very glad to have that back! Delightful all around!

I love coming in for happy hour. there was a nice happy hour menu… It’s limited, but if you’re not fussy About wanting an exact spirit, it’s fine. I wish the fish tacos were not blackened. Makes me worried that they’re covering up an inferior fish.

1st visit and enjoyed the lobster roll. Main room extremely noisy and greatly appreciate being seated in an adjoining room. Servers were terrific!

Happy hour oysters in the half shell at $1.50 each were Chenu’s. from Virginia and they were fabulous as was the fried calamari. I was disappointed with the happy hour white wine but Alex helpfully steered me to the rose, which I enjoyed inspite of the fact that I am not a fan of rose. As requested we were seated at a quiet corner table but it was next to the emergency exit which people continuously used as both an entrance and exit, on a very cold day! When I brought this to the attention of the manager she cheerfully agreed to re-write the sign on the door from “Please see hostess at the door to the right” to “this is not an entrance -please use door to the right.” Delicious food, great prices, lovely seafood venue and cheerful staff.

From the moment you step into the restaurant you know its going to be a great experience. The wait staff were very attentive and took good care of us. The food was excellent. The restaurant itself is decorated beautifully. Overall a wonderful experience.

Service was very attentive and as pleasant as could be. Food was hot, fresh and seasoned well. Tables a little tight next to one another, but noise level was not bothersome, so no need to amplify voice above normal conversation level. Happy to go again in the future.

Amazing food service and love the drinks, the team is accommodating with kindness.. it’s one of my favorite places to dine.. I’ve been going to other locations as well for over 10 years now I’m becoming a frequent guest at Chelsea location… love the vibes there!

What a wonderful restaurant, and what a wonderful night we had! The simple cod was extraordinary, and the cocktails subtle and refreshing. Everything was spot on and beyond our expectations. We will definitely be back.
