Le restaurant The Merchant propose des plats cuisinés de A à Z. Le chef cuisinier Matt Foley officiait autrefois derrière les fourneaux du Craigie on Main, à Cambridge, et du Sycamore, à Newton. Le Merchant se trouve dans une grande bâtisse qui fut un magasin de cuir pendant plus de 100 ans. Vous pourrez profiter de tables hautes à proximité des fenêtres, d'un bar de 12 mètres et de plusieurs coins repas plus classiques. Le restaurant possède une salle à manger semi-privée, située en retrait, ainsi qu'une 2ème à l'étage inférieur. Toutes les viandes proposées sont affinées et fumées sur place par le chef Foley. Vous pourrez découvrir les spécialités de la maison, notamment les hamburgers, les gnocchis à la parisienne, le filet de poulet rôti à feu doux et une large gamme de desserts « rustiques ». Le Marchand propose également des salades, des sandwiches (10 USD et 12 USD), et de nombreux plats pour le dîner. Pour le souper, le restaurant assure un service continu de brasserie (la plupart des plats sont compris entre 22 USD et 28 USD). Le bar, qui sert 36 types de bières à pression, dont plusieurs brassés dans la région, ainsi qu'une large gamme de cocktails, est l'endroit idéal pour se détendre après le travail.

The cocktails here are varied and delicious. I really like the togarashi fries! I think the salads are delicious but too expensive for what you get.

Considering It was busy, our food came quickly. We had the skirt steak and the cod-both were tasty. I appreciate the accommodation the chef made for my allergy. The manager was quick to help out his servers, which makes for a well-organized restaurant. The interior is beautiful. A great dinner experience.

I arrived just before noon for a lunch meeting, and the restaurant was empty. Within 15 minutes, it was full. I had an entree portion of the gnocchi appetizer, and my dining companion had the fish and chips. Service was prompt, food was satisfactory and prices were reasonable.

Pretty quiet for a Saturday night. Service was great but burgers were undercooked. Our server quickly remedied the situation although the rest of the party was basically finished by the time the burgers came back.

Great food. This was a business lunch and it was a little loud to chat well. But fun restaurant and good service even though they were very busy.

I had a wonderful experience at The Merchant. A friend from out of town was staying nearby. The table was ready when we arrived. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The food was excellent and everyone found something they wanted on the drink menu. I even found street parking nearby. The experience couldn’t have been better.

Great atmosphere, good energy without being too loud. We were there early before the theater, possible a later crowd would be noisier. Good drinks selection. Food was overall very good. My husband’s cod was excellent, my ribs were probably cooked too fast as they were not as tender as I would have expected. Service was appropriately attentive and food service was very quick.

Very good ambiance, menu choices leave something to be desired. Options presented are a bit all over the place, but the ramen and fish and chips are both good picks. Still a bit expensive given the middle of the road flavor, but definitely worth it for the ambiance.

We love Merchant. We go there regularly. It's a diverse menu with great drink options. The location is awesome, right downtown. They have a great patio too. It's nicer than casual places, and less expensive than the fancy ones.

Wonderful! Sadly, due to tragic circumstances, I was alone on Thanksgiving, but I felt so cared for by the staff at The Merchant. The food was amazing. It was a perfect night - 10/10

Thanksgiving Dinner at Merchant was outstanding A++++ Turkey Dinner portion was plentiful. Enough leftovers for another meal! The Pennette Pasta Appetizer was tasty and plentiful. This is our third year celebrating Thanksgiving at Merchant and the best yet! Highly recommend!!!

Small portions of food. Asked for mayonnaise, which was charged without asking. No special service, hard to get the waiter's attention. High prices for what you get. Still, nice atmosphere. If busy, it might be noisy, but now it was very quiet.

We loved our experience at Merchant! We came in with only a short time available to eat, as we had a play to get to. The staff accommodated us perfectly. No dithering around — they read our minds. The food was delicious!

The food was not great. I ordered fish and chips and the fish was soggy. It was like eating wet dough. I heard the burger my colleague got wasn’t great either
