The Mayor’s House By Selda is NOW OPEN! A full service restaurant in the historic The Mayors House home in Bishop Arts District in Dallas’ Oak Cliff. Led by acclaimed chef, Habip Kargin, and serving delicious dishes, kebab, a variety of fish, pilaf, pide, pistachio desserts, and more! We have a patio off the front of the restaurant where we offer hookah. We also have a small patio upstairs with great downtown views. Downstairs we have a full bar, a place for special events.

Our upstairs bar/dining area is available for private events. It is very spacious and can accommodate 30-50 people. We also have a private dining room that is able to be closed off that includes an outdoor patio with a view of Downtown Dallas.

This is probably one of our favorites restaurants in Dallas. The food is simply incredible. Great service in a charming environment.

The restaurant is actually a large old home near the Bishop Arts district. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is classic and clean. There is a very small parking lot in the back and street parking nearby. The food was amazing! We started with the stuffed dates and fried cauliflower. We will order 2 servings of the dates next time-they are so good! We had a spinach and feta cheese pide ( flatbread) then beef shish and lamb tagin as main courses. The beef was tender enough to cut with a butter knife. The lamb was a bit dry, but tasty. The side salads with the mains were a bean and a lentil salad. Both were so fresh tasting. The dessert option vary each day, so they bring the entire selection to your table on a tray to select. We tried a chocolate pudding and a banana chocolate cake. The chocolate pudding is made of a very dark chocolate, so it is for the dark chocolate lover. The cake was made of layers of chocolate cake with a banana filling between the layers and a white chocolate and pistachio hard shell covering. The desserts were good, but I would probably choose something else next time. The presentation of the each dessert was outstanding. I can’t wait to come back to this restaurant to try some of their other dishes.

Great addition to the Dallas dining scene. So glad to see some diversity in the food cuisine here. Authentic Turkish experience from the staff to the food to the cocktail and coffee cups. We sat outside on a lovely evening and enjoyed everything, including leftovers for lunch today! We will be back for sure. Please support this restaurant… we need good restaurants other than Tex-Mex and steakhouses here in Dallas.

The food is great and the service is wonderful. The food came out almost too fast because we were enjoying talking and eating the small plates. Loved it!

The food here is amazing. Some of the servers are good. Some of them have never waited tables before don’t be afraid to just snag anybody and tell them what you want. Don’t wait for anybody to come to you. Always ask for the dessert tray at the end of the meal it won’t come automatically and it’s really something to see. If you can get a seat at the bar, the bartender is fantastic. He is a craftsman, professional and makes perfect drinks. He can make any drink. Just tell him what you want. The specialty drink list is amazing.

4 of us dined at The Mayor's House last night (first time). We knew it was Turkish cuisine but didn't have many expectations beyond that. Our great server recommended three appetizers to share (shrimp/garlic/, a cauliflower dish and a Turkish savory "pastry"....all were soooo good. Three of us had the lamb dish she recommend as well. We savored every bite and the accompanying salad w/ pine nuts and rice were excellent too. The fourth person had a meat dish and he said it was also very good.
