At Matterhorn Restaurant & Bakery we showcase the magical experience of Swiss on-mountain dining, whether it’s après-ski, après-work, or après-all day.

Our restaurant focuses on authentic alpine cuisine, thoughtfully sourced and lovingly served in a setting inspired by the mountain "Stüblis" of the Alps. The menu is anchored by the Swiss classics of Fondue and Raclette - but features other typical fare highlighting various alpine regions.

Beer, wine and beverage offerings are designed to feature classic and fun pairings from Old and New World alike.

The Matterhorn has been a San Francisco institution, and we're proud to bring a fresh new chapter to its iconic story. As our guest it's an honor to have you at the story's center!

Celebrated a friend’s birthday and had a great time at Matterhorn! Food was good, hearty portions, great for sharing. Our server was rushed and a little brusque, but that was the only part of our experience that could have been improved. Faves were the hot stuff fondue, the spicy sausage, and the berner rösti!

Fantastic meal - the staff was great and the fondue and sides were all great. The wine matched perfectly the food. Overall great meal.

Fun place but the smell of the cheese is too strong. They need a better ventilation system!

Love the latest iteration of the Matterhorn. We had the veal entree, 2 of the cheese fondues, some starters, and the S’mores dessert. All the food was very tasty. Also enjoyed a white Swiss wine. Great for groups, but we also saw several parties of 2 enjoying themselves. Service was friendly and attentive. Fun ambiance. You’ll be transported to Switzerland. We will definitely be back soon.

Our second time to The Matterhorn was a delighftul experience, same as the first a few months ago. The salad, along with the cheese, meat, and chocolate fondues are all excellent, and the menu is most helpful with national flags denoted on all items so you know exactly from whence they come. This time, there were not very many people in the restaurant, but a Tuesday night can tend to be slow. The service in between courses was a little slow since there was only one waiter on duty. But the meal itself was such fun and so delicious, we will definitely return. The cheese fondues are over the top excellent!

We got to sit in the Gondola, which was a nice touch. The onion soup, veal with spaetzle, and Emmental fondue (added apples and sausage) were all delicious as usual. We have been regulars for decades and can't recommend it enough. It's great for special occasions/large parties, or just an evening out for two. Married 15 years but still love a "date night" at Matterhorn! 🇨🇭💯
