They just issued a new menu on Monday. Our server was not familiar with the new menu items yet and asked if we had any problems with the dishes. Not knowing exactly what they contained I asked questions about the spice that was added to the dishes since I am sensitive to that. The waiter really wasn’t sure and acted like I was being a bit particular. I have always felt when going to a restaurant that you should be asked if you have any allergies , or any ingredients that you should not eat. The waiter tried to act very funny and very familiar, which was not the norm for this restaurant as I have been here before. After the meal was finished, he asked if we wanted desserts. We both ordered the same dessert. My partner had a birthday yesterday and they served him a chocolate dessert with a candle. They never returned with the desserts we had ordered for at least 15 minutes. The waiter finally approached with the check I mentioned that I had not gotten my dessert and he offered to give it to me for free, which I declined by this time we had been in the restaurant for over two hours We will not be returning to the Matheson anytime soon. It seems like the management is not working on the same level as the waiter or bus staff. They should be more aware of service to customers during the entire experience.

First, a shout out to our waitress, Haley. Personable, pleasant, efficient, and fun. All the other staff that attended us throughout our meal were also professional and pleasant. We enjoy The Matheson as a special occasion restaurant as this place is pricey. The food is generally very good, desserts are very good, and cocktails are fun, all in a pretty and enjoyable environment/atmosphere. The menu does change. We had: Scallop crudo apps, these were excellent. Lumaconi with Iberico, spring pea, whipped ricotta, this was very good. Wagyu New York Strip Beef with root vegetables, pinot noir jus, smoked brisket (by the way, the brisket is so good it really ought to be featured as it's own dish). Squash with bok choy, sunchoke, coconut, wild rice (sadly, the wild rice really ruined this dish, just not tasty or flavorful.) For dessert, we had 2 different ones, their cheese cake (which was fabulous), and some type of dessert which was also very delicious! Fun cocktail of the night was called: "Foolish Behavior" and was very good.

Went to Matheson to celebrate anniversary. Entire staff were increidble and accommodating. We had the 6 course Chef's Menu without wine paring. everything was delightful, some better than others. In all, we were very impressed with the experience and will be back!

Everything was excellent accept for the Brussel sprouts which were not cooked enough. I would have given 5 stars if it weren’t for the Brussels. Pork, salad, service, vibe all outstanding.

We have been to the Matheson many times, from opening week to year one anniversary and were delighted each visit, but last night was perhaps the most wonderful meal we ever had there. Plump pork chop and delicate skate. Friendly efficient service and one of the best Vesper cocktails ever. A+

We made reservations for a hotel for two nights in Healdsburg, but decided not to make dinner reservations. We wanted to see what might intrigue us and what might be recommended. We ended up at The Matheson for a late dinner reservation and sat at the counter. The restaurant is stunning! We opted for the six course prix fixe dinner with wine pairing. I can’t recall all of the items on the menu, but I can confidently say I enjoyed every bit of it. We’ve talked about our experience, many times with friends over the last few weeks since our visit. Service was excellent, food was impeccable, wine pairing was on point. My husband classifies our dinner at The Matheson as the best meal he’s ever had! We went there to celebrate his 75th birthday so that says a lot! Highly recommend! We will definitely be returning and look forward to it.

Menu items hard to decipher. We had a party of six, including a teenager who was a vegan and we were not familiar with the fish ‘skate’. But our final choices were delicious. We have enjoyed several dinners at the Matheson as we live in Healdsburg.

I love this restaurant, but this time I felt the prices had jumped and the value just wasn’t the same. The real disappointment was that the sommelier suggested a wine and offered a taste, which I didn’t care for, nor drink, but was charged for. This on top of a $700 bill between the bar upstairs and the restaurant which was $575 for 3 people! And we only had 2cocktails, 1beer and a glass of wine, so not a large portion of the tab was liquor.

Fantastic experience. Sat at the chef’s counter to see the food artisans at work. Food was incredibly delicious. Staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and so friendly. Loved every bite and every sip! I’ll be back.

Last night I had the most wonderful and delicious experience with you. Attending a suggestion of my wife, I decided to try the Pork. I will repeat here what I told last night the waiter and the host that so nicely attended us: I’m a 57 year old person that has had the blessing of traveling all over the world and being able to dine in spectacular restaurants, and my experience of last night may be the new number one. The culinary art job I had the privilege of enjoying last night was spectacular in flavors, delicious in textures, attractive in presentation, and infinite in satisfaction. Never before had I felt so much joy, pleasure and satisfaction while dinning in a very friendly and comfortable place. This experience of last night had another very special additional Ingredient: 18 months ago I proposed to my wife at your place, and yesterday we were celebrating this beautiful moment of our lives. Your restaurant is now becoming the best of the area for us, and also the place where we’re experiencing and treasuring the most lovely experiences. Thank you very much!

We made a reservation for our wedding anniversary and the staff couldn’t have been more gracious. We were greeted at our table with a card signed by the wait staff and two glasses of sparkling wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our prices fix dinner menu and upon the desert service we were treated to two glasses of digestif. Very impressive. Thank you for making our anniversary truly special❤️

The food was mediocre at best and for $125 for the 6 course tasting menu, it was appalling. Not one thing stood out as what I would call “delicious.” The celeriac soup was served with a sliver of salmon rolled up and it was fishy and over salted. If one is going to serve a small piece of fish for a course, it should be high quality and delicious. The soup also did not make sense. The wagyu final savory course also had a piece of bbq on the plate that was dry but tasted good, but did not match the rest of the plate. Lastly, don’t skimp on the dessert course. By all means serve small portions for a six course meal, but serve a regular sized portion for dessert. Dessert was literally the only thing that was intriguing of the courses. The candied ginger paired well with the butterscotch pudding. There just wasn’t enough of the dessert. It felt cheap. The service was okay, our server was nice enough, but was checked out for the night. We were seated at 8pm so I get that though. For the price, we will never be going back. Wished we would have chosen another place to eat for that kind of money. Our bill was $410 with wine and one appetizer with the 6 course tasting menu for two for reference.

Of all the wonderful restaurants we visited while in Healdsburg, this was the most disappointing of all. The ladies who greeted us were lovely and very welcoming and friendly. One of the gentlemen- not so much. Told us to “stay put” and that he would be with us at our reservation time (which was 5 minutes from then). We were seated and it took 35 minutes for anyone to greet us again for drinks much less appetizers. The tables next to us were treated like royalty. Nothing on the menu was explained to us and dishes were dropped off abruptly without asking if we needed or wanted anything additional. Again- a major disappointment after so many better experiences. We’d skip this place and go to Vallette or Dry Creek.

The staff could not have been more gracious. There was excellent service. The food was delicious ant the restaurant beautiful. It was our anniversary and they gave us a glass of champagne and a signed card of congratulations. They also paid attention to the foods we don’t eat listed on our open table profile. A great restaurant for a special occasion or wonderful meal.

This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. My husband and I came for our anniversary and they really made it feel special for us. Our server Remy and all the other staff who took care of us were top tier. Every bite was amazing. I can’t say enough.

Really enjoyed everything about this establishment. Alejandro, our food concierge, was phenomenal. Service was top notch and food amazing! tad noisy, but manageable. One thing is the wine list was a bit thin in my opinion. Would definitely come back, food/service were off the charts.
