Food fantastic ( we are regulars from the Tiger Stouting ) Staff lovely , service excellent. Noise levels in the bar so loud , we were shouting to each other over the table to have a chat . Awful experience. Huge party filled the bar and just made it impossible for the dinners to enjoy their meal and chat. On a Saturday night you would be full anyway so why take a large party booking , plus live band !

Excellent customer service - one of our party had an allergy and the staff checked more than once that we understood what was on each dish ordered. Lovely!

Had several meals at the Marquis, stayed there lovely pub. Sunday just felt like there was not enough staff working, waited ages for drinks. The lady who looked after our table was friendly and attentive. The food was good as always,

First time I’ve been to the Marquis, which is strange seeing as it’s always had such great reviews. Easily the best two course Roast Dinner I’ve had in Years. The food was so so good, I had the Roast Chicken, friends had the Roast Beef simply amazing P Will be going back soon and will book a room also next time puddings were amazing also

The service as excellent and the staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Food was really good and we had a lovely table. Will go back there.

Food was pretty good, however, at this price point (£120 for two), it needs to be more than pretty good, especially as the cost of a meal here is on a par with some superb restaurants in the area, such as the Sportsman, the Fordwich Arms and the Pig. Out potato rostis were bland and under seasoned. Also, it’s not a good pub for wines. Not much thought seems to have gone into the wine menu. Very standard fair. Only reason I wouldn’t recommend to a friend is that better food is available locally for around the same price.

We went for a roast, albeit pricy worth the money! One of the best roasts we've had in a long time! Superb pork belly and a superb cut of beef (thicker than you normally get)! All the sides and items on the plate were hot (some places potatoes are colder, veggies are luke warm etc) this place is the place to go for a good Sunday roast if you ask me. We will definitly be back!

The service was attentive and excellent. The food was good-ish. My mother's vegetarian dish, the couilbiac was a little bland for her tastes. The chicken liver parfait was tasty and pleasant to eat but I found the feather blade of beef a little lacking in flavour, which sometimes happens with long cooked meat where the flavour goes into the cooking liquid. The potato base had flavour but the texture was a little sticky for my taste. Both of the desserts were fine and I drank a well kept pint of Harvey's.

We booked quite last minute on a Sunday for a roast dinner and thoroughly enjoyed. The food was amazing, every aspect of the roast had great flavour and you get a good amount of everything. The staff were attentive and polite. The vibe inside the restaurant was lovely, not too loud, lovely interior and a nice and calm atmosphere. We have said it’s our new favourite roast in the local area and will definitely visit again

Fantastic Sunday lunch with excellent food, and great trimmings. An exceptional country pub that has been very well designed, and is also well set-out if you have canine companions.

I have been a few times and the food has been outstanding, unfortunately not the last time . Chicken was dry , potatoes seemed like heated roasted potatoes. No rhubarb on the panacotta . Such a shame as I had been raving about how lovely it has been .

All at pretty late notice. Superb dinner faultless. Can’t complain on noise as we were probably the noisy ones with 9 of us. Very enjoyable afternoon

The Marguis of Granby in Altham is lovely. It ticks all the boxes, traditional pub atmosphere, excellent choice of drinks (including Zero% alcohol options), excellent menu and staff. The bedrooms and lovely, stylish and the baths...a real bonus (plus plenty of hot water!). All in a very nice stay to discover the Kent coastal history.

Fantastic! I asked if they could offer some Gluten free options. And boy did they!! So many options, I felt spoilt for a change when normally you go GF it is so limited. I will be back.

I was charged £80 for a genuine mistake I like in stoke and booked the wrong venue a complete oversight but they still charged me £80 for not attending my booking, although I explained it was a complete mistake. I would have definitely informed them had I realised.

The restaurant was amazing in accommodating requests I made in making the experience special for my partner and I. The setting was lovely for a rainy Sunday afternoon and being sat close to the fire made it feel even cosier. The food was delicious, would definitely recommend the roast dinners and the sides of roast parsnips and stuffing were outstanding. My partner had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert and almost melted in to her seat as she ate it. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. All in all it was amazing experience and we will be returning in the future.

Fab food! Pork Belly was fantastic! Steak was amazing too and loved the sauce. We couldn’t believe how quick the food was even though you were busy and the food was amazing quality. We will definitely be back!

Had a long over due catch up with my friend. Was very busy and possibly under staffed for the amount of customers present. Waited by the bar for 15 minutes until we were seated and another 10 minutes for a drink order. Service was very rushed however our food was placed on the table with in 10 minutes of ordering.. roast was particularly cold. I have been here before and would come back just not on a Sunday.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Would have been 5 stars if Yorkshire puddings we not soggy! Great atmosphere - think traditional country pub, low ceilings, good art and furnishings , attentive and polite staff, plenty of parking. Would definitely return.
