This is the 3rd time I’ve been here. The crab fried rice is flavourful and can be made milk/dairy-free (which is fantastic for me!). The portion size of the fried rice is enough for 2 meals (I hope the portion always stays as big). The beef carpaccio is delicious with plenty of fresh basil. Great attentive and friendly service as well.

Everyone in my dining party loved their meals - the prawn fritters, beef pho, and fried tofu with vermicelli - and we'll definitely be back again. We were super cozy in the heated outdoor seating area and appreciated having the natural light around us. Highly recommend...but remember to book early.

The food was fantastic. We ordered the Family style, which the best way to go as you get some of their most popular dishes. We would order everything again! Ivy, our server, was wonderful. She was extremely attentive, knowledgeable and engaging. Thank you for a memorable meal

I enjoy Vietnamese food, but their Wagyu pho soup base is quite plain. While the ingredients are fresh, it lacks that special something. On the bright side, their service is good.

Had the “family style” sharing meal for 4 people, at $50 pp it felt like amazing value. Every dish was enjoyable, our servers were super helpful, and the outside enclosed patio was nice and quiet versus eating inside. Want to come back and try the lunch menu!

We had been wanting to dine here for a long time because we’d heard such great things. And all those great things are absolutely true! We had a late lunch and it was still packed, so be sure to make a reservation. The staff are friendly and clearly happy to be there. The food was INCREDIBLE! Delicious, light but very filling, beautiful to look at and sheer pleasure to eat. The pho broth was deeply flavourful. The beef carpaccio was a revelation - very good quality meat with an array of fresh herbs, peanuts and crispy onions. The lemongrass tofu with vermicelli and spring roll was stellar. I can’t wait to eat here again!

Our server was amazing! It was our visit and she found out we were from out of town and she went above and beyond to make our meal and experience memorable.

Was recommended to us by a friend. SO and I decided to have our anniversary there. Did not know it was a 2 time Michelin place until we got there. Ambiance was wonderful, vibrant but not grungy, classy but not stuffy. We were running late on a reservation and they held our table for us. Ordered the An Choi for 2 (full course meal). Food came quickly and every dish was flavorful and well presented. Real palette pleasers. On the pricier side but given the substantial dishes included and our special occasion it was worth it! They even gave us a bonus dessert at the end to help us celebrate. Our server Ivy was informative, timely, and cheerful. All other staff helped us immediately when she couldn't. Don't usually write reviews, but one of the best dine in experience we've had the 8 or so years we've been in Vancouver.

This was our second time around and this was a totally different experience. Right from the start to end everything was exceptional. The dishes we ordered and service from jess and the others made our evening thoroughly enjoyable

Our first time at Lunch Lady. We had a reservation for lunch and were seated immediately upon checking in (note that this place is very popular and there always seems to be a line up so reservation are a must). We had the fried tofu and vermicelli bowl, grilled chicken and pork skewers with vermicelli, and the prawn fritters, plus the sticky rice cake for dessert. All were delicious other than the fritters which were on the greasy side. Our server was fantastic and we had a great experience. Will be back to try the pho soups and carpaccio which we have heard are very good.

I'll admit that I had very high expectations of this place and had been wanting to come here for awhile. Everything was very good and of high quality - however, I was not blown away by anything, which I had hoped to be. I would still definitely recommend it though :D

The octopus skewers were to die for, haven't been able to stop thinking about them tbh. Also got fried noodles and the cornish hen, everything was so delicious. Literally kept wanting to order stuff just to try how good everything else is. Definitely some of the best food I've had in some time!!

Food was very good. But, I consider that the time allowed (1 hour) to dine in is too short. I understand it is a busy place but it was simply a factor that made me feel pressured all the time and not even think about ordering dessert.

Not for pescatarian diet because most item have pork broth. When asked for vegan item with seafood added, tasted like any other Vietnamese places that would do the same but far more expensive. The Vietnamese coffee tasted like regular local grounds in a slow drip and was charged $6/each. The lime soda was not good (because it wasn't pickled lime like we grew up with). Guess you have to like alcoholic beverages and meat/pork to appreciate this place. My family are from south Vietnam and we use to own restaurants back in the refugee camps. My mother and I were not impressed by our meals. The service was nice.

Maybe our expectations were way too high, but we found this restaurant really underwhelmed. In a city so rich with great restaurants of all cuisines and all levels of cuisine, we really found it puzzling how this restaurant received a Michelin Bib Gourmand. That designation should represent a standard level of quality, and it definitely did not in this case. We ordered 5 dishes for the 3 of us; none were great, 2 were fairly good, 2 were barely average (and overpriced for what they delievered), and 1 was inedible (the octopus was so chewy we couldn't finish it. Their chef needs to go to Europe to see how it's done properly). And our server might have been new to the world of waitering, because although she was polite and meant well, she was very inexperienced and provided a level of service I might expect at a casual greasy spoon...and even many of them are far better. Never asked us how our food was, and didn't take notice of the octupus left on the plate when clearing the dishes; basic waitering tips. Again, probably good intentions, but inexperienced execution. We're not hating on her; she just needs a lot of training, so that's the owners responsibility. I will say though that the food servers were quite good and they thoughtfully described each dish they were bringing, so thank you to them. Overall, food and service were sub-par, but the atmosphere and some of the flavours were good enough to give it a fair rating. But truthfully, save your money and go to any number of places that can easily out-do this place in every way.

Incredibly fun and delicious spot to go on a date or out with friends. The steak was outstanding - melts as soon as you cut into it. The reviews don’t do this place justice

It is hard to make reservations as the place is always full, so I was interested to find out what the hype is all about. Finally, we got in on Easter Sunday, and we were sitting outside the heated patio for a family of three. I get the cafe-style ambiance, but the stools are too small and stainless steel, and the part of the patio we are in, the ground is a bit lopsided. It was hard to move to another table as they were fully booked. Oh fun! We had the crispy prawns and spring rolls to start. The food was okay, and I'm not jumping all over it. The crispy prawns were very crispy, as the menu name says, but it has no taste. The spring rolls were ok. My son ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee. I was expecting it to come with a coffee filter phin, but it was Starbucks-style iced coffee. That was disappointing. I would have expected a more authentic taste and dining style if they advertised it as a genuine Vietnamese street food style.
