Terrible service, and the waiter pretty much disappears after taking your order so if you want anything more you can forget about it. Also, nobody to get the check and even if you go to the counter, there’s no one there so you have to literally look for someone to pay. I’d heard so many good things about this place before I visited but I guess it has changed in the past year or so.

Brilliant staff service ambience food and atmosphere. Perhaps a little clearer signage for the lounge outside but overall brilliant venue .

Unfortunately my gluten free high tea was a disaster to put it mildly. The GF scones in particular were unbelievably bad! I could not cut them, I attempted to taste them which were not palatable, they were like rubber. Chef/cook needs to learn how to cook GF. I suggest you try Hydro Majestic GF high tea which is perfect in comparison. No one asked how did I enjoy my high tea, I think they were too scared to ask knowing it would not be complementary. Serving pot of tea well in advance of receiving the high tea food is also not acceptable as tea was Luke warm by time food arrived. I was looking forward to the high tea as I have been in the past which was acceptable. I can only think that you now have a very inexperienced new chef/cook to deal with GF orders. I will not be rushing back to experience such bad GF food.

We had high tea in the afternoon, it was very nice, we were a little bit surprised that it was exactly the same food as we had had 12 months ago, thought there may have been some slight changes. My only downside was there was a youngish girl sitting not far from us and she talked non stop at a reasonable loud level and the adult with her never suggested she talk quieter, nor did the staff and we found it a bit disturbing.

We had a lovely, civilised escape from the summers heat and enjoyed a peaceful high tea. There was more lovely food than we could eat so prepare yourself with a light breakfast if your going.

Beautiful ambience - lovely room. Excellent service. All staff were friendly and polite. They were very attentive. Nice,well prepared food. A view of the Blue Mountains would have topped it off.

Food was very good; service non-existent: not one staff member (and there were lots of them) smiled. Greeter seemed stunned to have someone with a reservation… en route to table he stopped to chat with another table, took over 10 minutes to come back to take the order, wine arrived way before food, tea didn’t arrive until a second reminder given & we were almost finished; tea ought to have been hot - not just lukewarm, would have been nice to have had a hot water pot to accompany the tea pot. I’d suggest go for the food , not the service./ don’t see why it’s listed as a “must do” - it’s nothing to really write home about!!!

I took my grandkids for their very first high tea experience. Lilianfels didn’t disappoint. The food, the service and the ambience were all exceptional. The food esp the desserts didn’t only taste good, they looked so pretty. The grandkids couldn’t help sing Yummy Yummy in my Tummy after their meal. I would highly recommend it!

We went for high-tea. Family of 4. Good food but the service was incredibly slow. Took almost 40 minutes between sitting down and ordering, then another 25-30 minutes before food arrived. With young kids, this wait is a bit frustrating. Excellent small bites and tea was great. Still had to chase down server to ask for the tea and to conclude our service. We missed the better part of the afternoon because of the wait. Other than that, ambiance was great. No view from any table as described on the website, however interior was charming not to mind.

Christmas lunch at the Lounge was for the most part very good. Food quality and portions were excellent, the wine was also very nice. The service was somewhat slow at times, with us having to go looking for a member of waiting staff several times. Overall it was a fine experience and good value for money.

A beautiful setting but a little disappointed with food options. Savoury dishes pumpkin and prawn was a stand-out, the rest disappointing - in particular double egg sandwich was dry and needed something other than egg. Also small seafood?? Quiche was unpleasant- agreed by all 4 of us. Scones good and desserts ok but nothing outstanding. Mediocre in terms of our High tea experiences.

This is a lovely venue. The staff were lovely. I have had a lot of High Tea’s at top venues. I rate this one in my top three. I will definitely be back again.

The food was lovely however the staff just plonked the trays onto our table without any explanation. When we asked about what the treats were, the staff member had no idea so we asked another staff member who again, had no idea. Admittedly we went during the long weekend which also coincided with school holidays so it was probably much nosier than usual. Despite “smart causal” listed as the dress code, most people were in activewear, shorts and T-shirts.

Great variety of sweet and savoury treats for high tea. Very filling - definitely go on an empty stomach! Staff were helpful in setting us up with some take home boxes and the delicious scones made up our breakfast for the next few days. We also enjoyed the generous servings of several different teas. Would recommend!

The food IS of excellent quality but it’s expensive! As is the grog! I think $30 for a cocktail is wayyy to much. Still, Lilianfels is an excellent place to dine. The service is exceptional.

Even though the room was about 1/3 full, the staff clearly couldn't manage. We had to ask three people for our drinks before some finally arrived 25 mins later

Poor service, brought tea instead of coffee, there was food on floor where we sat. Had to go up to pay for high tea when there was ample staff on duty. Prawns were cold and tasteless, water was $12 a bottle and each person was charged $60. Overall unimpressed
