Afternoon tea is a British tradition focused on creating a space to share a social experience. Tea, scones, and finger foods are placed at the center of the table to facilitate discussion. From the quintessential cucumber sandwich to signature desserts like our tea-infused shortbread, there is certain to be something for you!

Owner Jackie James is a British expat who wanted to recreate the experience of a true tea room that you would find in London. Doilies and frills are out: we married our a vintage English vibe with St. Louis's famed 19th century brick architecture to create an atmosphere that welcomes everyone for any occasion.

Located in the historic Hupmobile Building just one block away from CITYPARK Stadium, we are within walking distance of Union Station, the City Museum, and the Garment District. Parking is available in the garage at 1950 Olive St., or you can park on any of the surrounding streets.

Great option locally for afternoon tea. Would be great to have fresh clotted cream and jam. But understandable considering the costs. Would prefer the scones to be warmer (personal preference). Beautiful venue. And amazing tea options.

This was a great experience. I have to be gluten free, and that gluten free option was amazing. Great tea, and great food. There was one particular gluten-free vegetable pie that was one of the best things I have eaten in some time!! The server was very nice, and the room was beautiful. The only complaint was the noise. Everyone's voice echoed make the ambient noise loud, which made simple conversations a bit difficult. I recommend some sort of sound dampeners that can be placed on the walls or ceiling, etc.

Meera was our server and she was great. She took time to explain everything in detail and was very patient with our multigenerational group (ages 4 - 72). The tea offerings were unique and we were given an additional cup to take with us to go! Our visit was a great start to Mother's Day weekend.

I had a great experience with my co-workers at the London Tea Room. We did not know what to expect, but we had a great meal. When the food came out, it did not look like a lot, but it ended up being plenty. Our server was informative and pleasant. I was also happy that they accommodated our gluten free guest and our vegetarian guest. Great place to go with mothers/daughters or a group of girl friends. We will definitely be back!

This is one of my favorite places to visit in St. Louis. My friends and I love to spend a girl's day here! Service is always great, quality of the food and tea is great, and the atmosphere is great. Cannot recommend this place enough!!

Took my young adult children- two sons and a girlfriend. They all lived it Even your sons will like it because you can’t beat the tea and scones❤️🫖

The food was delicious and at $32 for food and tea I thought that was a deal! The service was attentive. The ambiance is ok. It’s more about who you bring to tea with you :)

Super friendly service from front desk to the table. Prompt to refill water and remove unused plates. Everything was served quickly and was delicious. Wonderful options! Will definitely recommend to family and friends. Cannot wait until my next visit.

We always enjoy our Afternoon Tea at the London Tea room. The food is always delicious, the tea variety is wonderful. Phineaus is always tasty wonderful help when we have questions shopping for teas after we eat, and very friendly.

We did the high tea and really enjoyed the scones and desserts. None of us, though liked the salmon toast. Maybe find an alternate. We loved the chicken salad.

The London tea room was an exceptional experience. The service was quick and made you feel like you were royalty. The food was something I will be dreaming of for the rest of my life. I have never had such an exquisite cup of tea. And the gift shop was filled with trinkets and things to remember such a wonderful afternoon.

I love the London Tea Room! The only downside is how expensive it is. But it’s still a great place! I would recommend not going towards closing time though because you’ll see a lot of cleaning up, which slightly ruins the ambience. Other than that, I’ve been multiple times and I’m sure I’ll be back multiple times. :)

Fun place to go for authentic English tea time. My 4th time back and everyone I take enjoys it! Food is pricey, but a great splurge place to celebrate at. Or come for cream tea during the week and have a delicious scone with a cuppa for 1/2 the price of the usual experience!

Definitely worth going at least once. It is expensive but my fiancé said he had the best jasmine tea he has ever had here. It won’t be cheap if you want to get the whole experience. Plan to spend $100 with tip for two people. Love that you can buy the tea you had, however, if you fall in love with a certain kind. And, they have samples you can smell before you commit to a pot of tea. Recommended for a cute midday date!

Lovely location! Loved the server and food and ambience! They seem to need more servers however and we struggled to get waited on a bit. Once she arrived she was great. Will definitely go back!

The London Tea Room was everything we hoped for! Amazing ambience (felt like we were in Europe!), so many tea options and so well prepared, wonderful food, and lovely service. I took my mother and mother by love and we had a wonderful time. Thank you for working so hard to make this a beautiful experience!

Perfect venue for a special occasion or just a time you need to feel special. Thomas, our server, wore a smile as he quietly and efficiently served the three tiered trays filled with an excellent high tea assortment of sweet and savory treats. Recommending the Naughty Vicar hot tea, but there are many favor options served in individual teapots for each diner. Gift shop with teas and related novelties.

Took my daughter there for Spring Break and had the most wonderful time! The theme this month is Jane Austen, from the teas, scones and desserts, all was delicious! They even had Pride and Prejudice playing ! Mu favorite place in St Louis. You HAVE to visit ☕️

We went for Afternoon Tea and asked for the wheat-free options. Honestly, it was amazing! We each got 3 sandwiches, 1 scone with jam and clotted cream, and a plate of 4 separate pastries that were all gluten-free. It was so much better than I expected. The owner and the employees were all so kind and pleasant. The atmosphere was calm, and the tea was hot! Thank you, London Tea House, for the little piece of England we've been missing!
