Classic cocktails often taste great on their own, but can also provide pro bartenders and home enthusiasts alike a framework for additional creativity. How can we take recipes that we know already work, and modify them to incorporate different flavors and ideas? Are we really only limited to lemon and lime to make drinks tart, or are there other ways to brighten citrusy cocktails? Simple syrup is sweet, but can we use something that gives more. This class will explore acid-adjusting citrus (and other) juices to make new flavors and cocktails never before considered, as well as basic syrup techniques to add new dimension to old favorites and modern classics.
