The Kings Arms has been refurbished throughout to a high standard and presents a welcoming and informal setting. (The outdoor seating in the courtyard is especially pleasant during the daytime when the weather is suitable - though on this occasion, our visit was an evening one.) The menu is seasonal and offers a good choice of dishes as well as daily specials. We chose starters from the main menu - Pear, cured ham & mozzarella salad, walnut & basil pesto and Nduja scotch egg, with mint yoghurt, crispy kale. Our mains were both from the specials - halibut and a lamb dish. We indulged ourselves with a dessert too - Baked pavlova, papaya & passionfruit cream, white chocolate shards, mango sorbet and Warm almond & pear tart, vanilla ice cream. All the dishes were of excellent quality and beautifully presented. We chose wines by the glass to complement our different mains - the range offered is good - and were very pleased with the choices. The service too was friendly and efficient, and the bill was very reasonable for the quality of the cuisine and drinks we had enjoyed. We noted, too, that the restaurant was family friendly - there were children at two other tables. The only slight issue was that the volume of the piped music was a little high - we asked to move tables as we were initially seated directly below a speaker - our request was immediately agreed and we relocated - the volume was also turned down a little, but we noticed later that people at an adjacent table also drew attention to the level and the volume was again adjusted. We will definitely come back for a special treat or occasion and unhesitatingly recommend the Kings Arms.

We found that the food was excellent and the service was also very good. The seating was rather cramped but overall it was an enjoyable evening. I would recommend this restaurant to our friends.

Nice Pub, ample table space and nice location. having to run to the bar to get drinks ordered was a bit unhelpful, fortunately the barperson brought our drinks to the table. food in general was good, except one meal, the fish pie had a piece of blue plastic in, the guest in my party was convinced it was part of someones plaster, the waiter infiormed us it was a piece of piping bag, just had to take their word on the matter, but the pie was taken of the bill. Service!! We wasnt in a rush but the wait time from start to main was horrific, the table behind us arrived before us and left without eating after left waiting for 2 hrs. More staff are required, not good enough for a Gastro Pub on a Saturday night. As a one off visit to entertain my parents, I'm not sure this is a regular occurance, therefore will recomend the Kings Arms to other people.

Had an amazing meal with my family, the food was outstanding! The service was so efficient and friendly and the bar and restaurant is beautiful. Will definitely be returning over and over again!
