Next to the 'Old Mill' in Aruba you'll find a unique new restaurant, 'The Journey'. Michelin star trained chef Patrick van der Donk (old Amuse Bistro) has made a very intimate chef's table concept.

Credit card information will be required in order to hold reservation as well confirmation by phone .

Not your usual bar seating set-up! Here you are able to dine at you own separate tables and still have a view of the chef creating your 5-course meal for a max of 20 guests per evening.
Price $130 per dinner and $80 for the optional wine paring, small bar available.
The evening starts on our cozy lounge with delicious hors d'oeuvres and bubbles, inside at a small and stylish set-up the chef will prepare every dish in front of his guests taking time to invite his guests over for a chat, he might even ask to help plating his dishes which gives a truly extraordinary dining experience. The menu changes frequently, classic dishes with a twist prepared with the best ingredients.

We have served many, from a big group of loyal locals to big events for the government, the Royal Dutch family and many other stars coming to the Island. Weddings events on the beach we also cater, set-up and organize.

The stand-alone tables which seats only 20 patrons the five-course chef’s choice pre-fixe menu will take your taste buds on a world tour. Once you arrive at your destination, the exciting expedition begins with a toast of bubbles on the terrace. Inside, an amuse bouche showcases the chef’s imagination and previews the palate-pleasing experiences to come. You can opt to pair your courses with the sommelier’s expertly curated choice of fine wines by the glass, or order a bottle from the impressive wine list. With the open kitchen, you witness the chef work on his eye-pleasing creations. By the end of the evening you will have made many new friends as you have all enjoyed such an excellent shared experience of culinary bliss. Bon Voyage!

Tremendous dining experience. From “Welcome” to “Goodbye” an amazing journey for the palate. The balance of each dish, the flavors and the textures so perfectly balanced. A must do experience.

We had a wonderful culinary dining experience with excellent food, great wines, and a fun social gathering. The chef and team provided a terrific and relaxing fine-dining environment and we recommend “The Journey” to everyone who visits Aruba. Thanks Chef Patrick and team!

One of the best experiences at a restaurant I have ever had. Highly recommended trying out The Journey. The staff was amazing and we met so many interesting people. The food was beautiful. Patrick is known to be the best chef on the island

The chef is amazing and the food was absolutely incredible. Such an intimate setting with the chef greeting everyone and making it feel like a home setting. Loved it!!

Outstanding culinary experience! My wife and I wanted to enjoy a special dinner for anniversary and they delivered…. we did the wine pairing with the 5 (or 6) courses and that made the dinner that much more spec and memorable… highly recommend!

Her first time going to this restaurant and definitely not disappointed. It was a journey through a delicious meal so the name matches the experience you get the chef was friendly interacted with the group, very unique, and will definitely go again.

By far the best dining experience my wife and I had for our honeymoon! Most definitely a foodie’s delight! Every dish was immaculate to watch being prepared and presented with an excellent wine pairing. I highly recommend to anyone visiting the wonderful island. Hats off and a standing ovation to you chef and the excellent thoughtful staff! Y’all gave us memories of a lifetime! Thank you so very much!

On our recent visit to Aruba I carefully planned our dining adventures. I thought that the best meal and experience we would have should have been at your restaurant. Unfortunately, I did not have the most wonderful food which I had so looked forward to. Yes, the atmosphere, location, service, attitude were fantastic. My issue is the value for the food presented. I do not want to write an open comment/review because I don't think you deserve that on public but I do want to tell you directly. I can not recommend you to others. We also ate at Las Ramblas, Papiamento, Pinchos, Passions on the Beach. I think the cost, quality, and value at those restaurants were superior to our meal at The Journey. Our meal with you was over $300 and we did not do a wine tasting. Also, we had no idea what the menu would be and two people dining with you that night had allergies -- this should be avoided in advance. I am just so sad to have not enjoyed what I had hoped would be the highpoint of our vacation in Aruba. For us, the best dish you served was the appetizer. I could eat an entire tray of your little cheese bite. Our steak should have been melting in our mouths... but did not. We were also there from 7 to 9:30 which felt really long. I didn't expect to pay $18 for water. Shouldn't water, tea, coffee be included with the price of the meal? I would suggest you visit your competition and see what they are serving/prices. I know you think you are a superior chef to all of them and don't want to be in that "league" but then you need to totally step up your game. Sorry.

Our favorite evening on the island! It was a wonderful experience starting with champagne and tasty bite-sized appetizers making you excited for what was in store. The menu was well designed and the wine paring was perfection. Each dish was delicious, just the right proportion and Chef Patrick explained each as it was served. By the end of the evening we felt connected to the chef and his staff of 3, leaving with our bellies and souls happy. Thank you. A delightful hidden gem and we give them our highest recommendation.
