Great ambience but just a little noisy. Food is very good. Disappointingly two of the three desserts on the 1917 menu were unavailable.

Anticipation was high and whilst the afternoon tea was well presented, the scones were very poor and the tea was weak and tasteless. The sandwiches were lovely, as was the velvet cake. The glass of bubbly was very nice too. Although we were assured that the scones were freshly baked each day and were warmed up from the chiller, but perhaps a microwave was in the mix as the scone was hard and dry, like a two or three day old scone. The tea was served in a teapot, but was very weak and not piping hot. As I had taken along a friend, I didn't think it was appropriate to upset our day, so apart from commenting that the scones were not good, I left it at that. The ambience for afternoon tea was not to my taste, though perhaps at other Ivy establishments there is more of a "drawing room" atmosphere. I cannot comment on other meals served.

We had a lovely meal at The Ivy on the Square yesterday. The food and service from waiting and reception staff was excellent.

Sadly on this visit to the Ivy we were disappointed in the service, having to wait 25 minutes for drinks & then one was missing . Service was slow all evening & the waiter did keep leaning across other guests at the table to serve & clear away.

We arrived promptly for our 7.15 booking but it was at least 30 minutes before we were even asked for a drinks order and and after our wine was served, we had to ask again for a Diet Coke which was ordered when we sat down but did not appear until after our wine was served. We then had to ask another staff member if we could order our food and that was nearly an hour after we arrived. The food was good but the service was way below what we'd expect in The Ivy, having eaten there many times. We think the young servers were very inexperienced and an older man apologised for our wait but it was not a good experience. Might be a while before we're back.

We usually go to the Ivy down in London and we love it there . We went to the Ivy Edinburgh but were left a bit under whelmed by our food, the quality wasn’t up to the usual standard we were used to. Not sure we would rush back. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Took a point off because my husband ordered arancini balls as starter. He wanted chicken skewers and a side of truffle fries for his main, but received a different chicken dish by mistake. The waiter apologised for his mistake. The food was delicious and the service was fine, apart from the mistake I highlighted.

Poor service- had to ask for water, napkins, added 12%service charge on top of VAT. Oily food.

Celebrated our anniversary lunching at The Ivy, it was fabulous. Excellent surroundings, service and food. We will be back.
