Our mission is simple: to celebrate the diverse, hustling, resilient city of Detroit and its people by consistently providing amazing food and a stellar experience. Our expansive menu has something for everyone: whether it’s our take on the famous Maurice salad that your grandparents remember from Hudson’s, a heaping stack of Cinnabun pancakes for the dessert-for-breakfast person in your life, a Voodoo benedict for those who love an adventurous take on an old classic, or Mickey Mouse pancakes for the little ones, we’ve got you covered.

Founded in 2011, born in the heart of Detroit just before the city’s much-publicized revival began. Located on Woodward Avenue between Grand River & State St, our name is a nod to the iconic Hudson’s department store, which was located directly across the street on Woodward Avenue, and Detroit’s heyday as a bustling, cosmopolitan city. We have been blessed ever since to watch the city progress & grow around us.

The overall ambience was underwhelming, as the photos online were a lot more appealing. The two closed off sections on each side of the main dining area were very unappealing and need to be improved tremendously. They had a low budget diner vibe. Fortunately the host was able to seat us in the main area, after attempting to seat us in one of the outer areas initially. It was a little more vibrant in the main dining area, but still didn't have the appeal we had hoped for. My husband, some friends and I were on a special date brunch & wanted the vibe to be a little more classy. Fortunately the food and service made up for what was lacking in ambience. Based on that, I would still recommend it and I'm sure we will return.

The noise level here is extremely loud. The hostess tried to put us in a less noisy area, but it was difficult to have a conversation. Too bad since everything else was nice.

I was set within five minutes. Waitress was decent. Food was okay. But their fried chicken was better than expected

We love to hear we went here for brunch. The food was delicious. I had the chicken and waffles which was a 10 out of 10. My husband had French toast and sausage which was an eight out of 10 a nice quiet place to go to early during the week to have some good food and conversation.

I was excited to check out this eatery after hearing great reviews about it. However, we probably should have picked a less popular day (Mother's Day) to explore this establishment. We had reservations, but we still waited 15 minutes for a table. This server was on it and very attentive. The food was good but not I gotta go back ...... . Over all experience was good.
