THE HOUSE is a historic oasis where people can eat, drink and celebrate day or night in true Florida Riviera style. The “High Tea” experience, an age-old tradition of gathering in the afternoon to share proper tea service along with a delicate tower of finger sandwiches, fresh baked pastries and fruits. Enjoy the afternoon in one of Fort Lauderdale’s oldest homes. High Tea is a sumptuous meal enjoyed in the early afternoon between traditional meals offering beautiful spreads of bite size items designed to be shared paired with a choice of tea. We host HIGHT TEA on the 2nd floor porch overlooking the new river, the perfect ambiance to add a little luxury to any casual afternoon. Experience includes: Tea Service, Tower of Finger Sandwiches, Fresh Baked Pastries and Fruit. (Bubbles, wines & spirit beverage options are available for purchase)

Pleasant staff. Nice Ambiance. Food was good. Plenty of overhead umbrellas and sails for shade.

The place is very nice on the river, however service and food need improvement. Eggs benedict arrived very cold and when the server asked if everything was ok we told her it about it, she didn’t do anything not even an apology. I am not sure why they ask if everything is ok at restaurants if they are not going to do anything. We were not even complaining, just telling her the truth.

Food was delicious , service was terrible Restaurant was almost empty and we continually had to wait for drinks and water top up and dishes to be cleaned . Was disappointing

Food was great. Port chop was super tender and had great flavor. Everyone was very happy with the quality. Lovely location. Great service.

I wouldn't go back there. Very bland food. Badly done! Old, dark indoor environment. With the exception of the waitress, the rest of the staff very unsympathetic.

Love the location and history of this restaurant… they have done a beautiful job on restoring her to her original glory . The service by staff was excellent and attentive , even the GM, Russ stopped by to say hello and to check that we were happy …. Food quality & presentation of food was superb. …. We also loved the options of private dining in the historical home many rooms . And they also have outside dining with view of the New River .

I don’t know if it was an “off night”. This was our first time coming to The House on the river. We were very disappointed with the service. It felt like they were having a really bad night. Things just did not feel right, orders were mixed up, the service was chaotic. However for ambience it’s a great location. The venue is quirky. The river views are nice. It’s historic. The food is rather average I have to confess. None of us were impressed with our appetisers / starters. The mains were good. Overall not likely to come back anytime soon.
