The server was adequate but didn’t pour the wine for us—not once for the whole bottle. (She delivered it and offered a tasting and after that we were on our own).

A favorite in the Harvard square area. We especially enjoyed our wonderful server. Oysters were delicious as was the shrimp ceviche. The salmon on my Cobb salad was absolutely perfect. A neighborhood gem in the middle of a bustling square.

Oysters were just ok, not really impressed. Entrees were pretty good but we found a very long hair in my wife’s dessert. The server didn’t even offer to knock off a round of drinks.

Meh. Food was OK. 2 out of 4 dishes were good the others not so much. Service was barely adequate. Took several minutes to receive service when we arrived even though the restaurant had 1 other table in the space. Mussels and Hamachi crudo were quite good. The banh mi and fish and chips not so much. Not worth returning to.

I was not that impressed and somewhat disappointed. I had been looking forward to dinner after reading other reviews. The calamari looked like a big serving, but it was more breaded peppers than calamari. We're from NC and know hush puppies; they were not good. My clam chowder was meh. My daughter liked her lobster roll but it was $34. Also the kitchen fee threw me off. Is it a tip or not? Is it part of the tip, like a standard gratuity? I tipped less because of it, but then felt guilty. Anyway, it was expensive and not that great of an experience, IMO.

This place was delicious! We went on a Sunday night and the noise level was perfect for a sweet date night. Oysters, little necks, clam chowder, bucatini and cocktails - spectacular line up filled with fresh flavors. We had the kindest waitress and will absolutely be back!

My third time back at The Hourly Oyster House and have never been disappointed. The food, friendly and attentive service along with the cozy atmosphere make for an enjoyable dining experience. Ordered the encrusted halibut - delicious! Nice selection of fresh raw oysters to choose from as well.

If someone in your party doesn’t like seafood don’t go there. While they had a few non seafood entree on their menu, they were out of those entrees.. Worst yet they didn’t seem to care. They didn’t tell us they were out until after our order was already placed for the other food. Truly a disappointment.

Professional service with good knowledge of their menu. Attentive service and at the same time unobtrusive. The seafood dishes are perfectly prepared and the selection of oysters is second to none! Highly recommend the Hourly.

We had made a very specific reservation for a high top or (preferably) spots at the bar. When we arrived, the gracious hostess noted this and showed us the table they had set aside and pointed out space at the bar (where we belong, really). Our bartenders were a delight, the neigbors to the right and left equally so. Delicious, well prepared cocktails, with specific questions to be sure they got it to our liking. I had the tuna tartare appetizer for my meal and it was delicious -- one of the best. When the bucatini de mer arrived for my love, conversation halted for a bit. It too was delicious. All in all a lovely, pre Sanders Theater dinner and a special evening.

We had an absolutely fabulous night at the hourly oyster house. Our food was fantastic. We sat in a great booth, and all in all just really enjoyable evening!

Superb raw oysters and seafood appetizers and entrees. Highly recommend grilled salmon and bucantini frutti di mare (creamy red sauce). We've been there 5+ times and always been very happy with the food and staff.

The Hourly is fantastic. Food is always amazing, seafood is fresh, service is professional and positive. It's one of my favorite places to eat. The only thing I wish they had was a weekend brunch menu! But their lunch menu is wonderful and I have never regretting eating there at any time of day.

Food was good but not great, especially given the price. Clam chowder was cold when it was brought out, most likely because wait staff did not bring it to the table soon enough. Wait staff was informed we wished to bring the salad home, she acknowledged the request but proceeded to stack plates on top of the salad. The dining room is cute and music wasn’t too loud, which helped with the experience.

Literally the best oysters I've ever had. Everything was delicious (also got shrimp cocktail and sear scallops). Our waitress, Emma, was super nice! Also for those who don't drink, I would 100000% recommend the Destination Unknown mocktail.

We are regulars at Hourly and were rather disappointed about some of the changes on the menu. We loved the Rockefeller oysters; we are so sad they have disappeared! The fried oysters that replace them - though fair - don’t quite cut it. Still, the lobster roll and Cubb salad are quite delicious. Service could use a bit of improvement but all in all, Hourly is a great place if you are in Harvard Square.

Hourly Oyster House was ok. The wine list is disorganized; they have some on the main menu, and then a full page of others on another page. We nearly missed seeing one portion of it entirely. We like the interior: comfy and cozy, the sort of place one can hang out for a long meal and conversation. Service was very friendly and fairly swift. Food was kind of a miss: the fried oyster starter was delicious, but they only give you 4 of them, which seems miserly. The lobster roll was not great: bland and kind of tough. Cocktails were superb, and friendly service from the bar. I would go here again, but would refrain from recommending the food to friends.
