The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.

Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. Here we serve our trademark delicious home produced quality food and excellent home brewed ales. Your hosts Mike & Julie and their superb team bring a wealth of experience in the trade and have sourced the best in the local area to tempt you.

The Hop Vine is our go to place for lunch, as it’s always good service, good food and good value. So I would highly recommend it for couples or groups.

Very loud as there was music on which we didn’t know but we couldn’t hear ourselves think. We were also crammed on a really small table with not much room to move so uncomfortable to eat. I have been before and the food was a little disappointing compared to previous visits

We are only in Burscough occasionally and have previously always gone to a pub by the canal but discovered this pub on our most recent visit and will come here in the future. Staff are very pleasant, beer brewed on the premises is great and the meal we had was excellent. Oh and it is dog friendly too. What's not to like!!
