Hook and Plow has been a staple of mine for years. Always delicious. I have dined at the Manhattan location before and it was lovely. This time I brought my daughter to brunch and we were late due to parking issues. But I called and let them know. We arrived and I checked in and one of the female employees loudly and with a snarky tone announced that I was here. Really? It wasn’t crowded and there were 6 available tables. The service was also very slow throughout our visit, our waitress was not attentive at all.

The service was fabulous! We could not have had a more accommodating server and support team. Our order came quickly and the food was delicious. The salmon à la cart was cooked perfectly and the steak sandwich was to die for. The fish tacos tasted great, but were you very skimpy. The cocktails with a wine alcohol base were surprisingly delicious. I just returned from Ireland and your sticky toffee pudding can hold its own against the UK! The price for the meals was very reasonable and we had a fabulous table seated outside! I will definitely be back

We have been coming to this place every other week for the past few months (a happy middle meeting place between Santa Monica and Long Beach) - it is really lovely - and the people who are working there are extra special as well!

I have to say my dinner here far exceeded my expectations which were to be honest quite low. I have been to the Hermosa Beach location two or three times and was never impressed so I didn't plan to try this new location in MB but a couple people told me it was good so I decided to try it and I'm so glad I did! Everything we ordered was so delicious. We got the tuna crudo and panko breaded avocado as started, followed by the Sea Bass which was the catch of the day and then sticky toffee pudding for desert and everything was amazing. The only slight negative (and this will not prevent me from going back) was that the service was bit slow and it was quite cold since the night was chilly and the whole front of the restaurant is open so if you go on a cool evening dress warm.
