Handsome Hog is a St Paul favorite nestled in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood. We serve contemporary Southern cuisine and boast an award-winning dinner and cocktail menu. Handsome Hog has a pig-centric menu our Chef Matt Green created an inviting variety of salads, appetizers, entrées, and desserts. The bar offers a curated bourbon menu and inventive craft cocktails and mocktails. The Handsome Hog has an elevated ambiance with a casual and friendly neighborhood vibe.
Come in and try our dry-rubbed wings, woodfire-roasted mussels, or crawfish hushpuppies to kick off your evening. Great place for southern-style food. Chicken and waffles excellent - chicken crispy, waffles hefty, nice honey flavor overall but not overpowering. Gumbo chock full of meat, very hearty. Grits classic. Also has one of the largest bourbon selections you'll find - I had the Old Forester 100 Proof - smooth sippin' whisky. Our server was very nice, attentive, helpful. In nice weather the outdoor seating is great - tables with umbrella coverage.

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for years, it did not disappoint! The food was amazing! Had the mussels and had to restrain from licking the sauce off my plate, so good! My friend had the fried chicken and said it was the best he'd ever had. We will definitely be back!

The food was great. Our server was nice and polite. The ambiance was great. Food was amazing! I had the spare ribs. I was so full. I definitely recommend it.

We had a large crowd and were in a hurry. Our server got us in and out quickly without us feeling rushed. Food was very good and everyone enjoyed it very much!

Overall it was a good experience and the waitress was very kind. I ordered the lobster pasta and they didn’t have lobster and it was just a shrimp pasta which was disappointing. The mussels I had for a starter was great! Very good flavor with a smoky twist.

First Visit - Recommended by St. Paul Hotel OUTSTANDING FOOD!! Sat at the bar before table was ready - bartender was cold & uninterested in smiling or providing any recommendations or good service - first impressions are lasting impressions! Downer! Table service was slow - we would have had a few more beverages - great beer selection if somebody would have taken our order… Food recommendation by the server were excellent (it was our first time visiting.) Food was slow coming out & server never stopped back to check on us (more beverages)… restaurant was about 60% full - we were there for Saturday Brunch at noon. Disappointing service… Food was FANTASTIC- I would try again & HOPE for improved service. Missed opportunity to sell more beverages & food…

Prices are high. Ambience is not that great. It feels dark and a lack of customers. Not a lot of seating. This is the second time I went trying to give it a shot won’t do it again. I wish I could give a better rating.
