Restaurant would not offer even tap water which seems absurd. Good was okay but over priced.

This is a new restaurant in the City of Decatur It is within walking distance for many residents and next door to the Avondale Marta train stop. It is great for brunch and dinner!

We went to celebrate a birthday, and enjoyed a great meal in a relaxing and pleasant environment. The chef’s attention to details, the gorgeous food presentation, and culinary expertise resulted in a very tasty and truly enjoyable meal .. it was outstanding! The staff is friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, and the restaurant’s ambience was great! We will definitely go back!!

Although the food was decent, the service this weekend was not up to par. We had to wait an hour for appetizers and 2 hours for our food. And took another hour to get our checks.

Great food, service, and ambiance! We had a leisurely lunch for a large party. All appetizers were delicious. My entree, shrimp and grits, had great flavor although a little cold. I heard the creme brulee was great. Treat yourself to this indulgence and don't rush the experience.

I guess we could start from the entrance.. the smell of the restaurant is so pleasant. The seating is almost too comfortable lol especially after finishing the meal. No overpowering smell from food being made. Super clean establishment and the music that was being played, was on point the whole time we were enjoying the food and drinks . The service was amazing , our server was very attentive and helpful. Drinks were amazing , I’m not a mixed drink guy at all but enjoyed my choice. I ordered the chef’s special, which was a burger and truffle fries. It was delicious and cooked to perfection at a medium well tempt. I came as a party of 4 and my toddler. Let’s just say everyone one were very pleased lol. This is the perfect spot to go and enjoy breakfast-brunch-dinner. There are a lot of places around the city serve food obviously but this restaurant's made me feel as though my money was well spent. Highly recommended.

"I love the relaxed feel of this place -the ambiance was everything. The server Alicia was amazing she made our experience joyful. She took her time and catered to the entire party’s needs! The steak, chicken &waffle and shrimp & grits were amazing and the Lemon drop alcoholic beverage was refreshing. I definitely would return to try more dishes and drinks.

I actually came in on the Friday afternoon for brunch. I was pleasantly surprised drinks were amazing. Food was good. I actually received a warm hand towel after my service. I would highly recommend it and give it 10 stars. Definitely the owner was super cool, super attentive it was taken care of of everyone in the restaurant. I was highly suggested restaurant.

This was the worst Valentine’s Day experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Had a reservation for 815, was seated about 830 which was not an issue. The issue was that we sat at the table for nearly an hour and no one ever came to take drink orders or food orders. I had to walk up to the bar to get drinks and bring them back to our table. We ended up leaving because no one would serve us. The own was there asked to speak to him, he never came to talk to us as we watched him walk but several times. I would it recommend this place to my worst enemy.

We made reservations at 8pm. Didn't order until 10pm. My husband had fish that was overly cooked. We only got excuses after excuses. We didn't leave beautiful We couldn't get a reservations anywhere close at that time. Paid a ton of money for nothing. We will Not be back. Pick another restaurant.

Service was the bad because they only had 3 servers trying to cover the whole restaurant. So it took forever to get drinks and food. Food was tasteful but my fiance and my dishes were missing things that was in the menu description. There are a lot of rules, main one is that this is a cashless restaurant. I think most people would agree this is the reason that the 20% gratuity needs to be eliminated from checks, my service that we received here was definitely not worth that gratuity and is the issue with most restaurants in Atlanta and surrounding areas.

This was a nice find for our random weeknight date. Nice atmosphere and the food was delicious but a little pricey. The salmon pasta also could’ve used a little salt but definitely would come back.

Our group of 7 included 5 that are good customers. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience, the service, the atmosphere and the food. We will return. The salmon was excellent. Most had the lamb and loved it as well, and the shrimp and grits were deemed superb as well. Appetizers and desserts were excellent as well. Just a wonderful experience.

This place is EVERYTHING!! The decor, the ambience, the people, and the food was AMAZING!!! The Chef was very friendly and very attentive!! I had the Shrimp & Grits w/ Chicken Sausage! The grits were just right, the assortment of peppers made it pop just how I like it! I'll definitely frequent this place because I want to try the whole menu...

We had a fantastic experience. Delicious food, FANTASTIC service. The owner chatted with us and pulled my seat out for me. Chef shook our hands. Our server, T, was delightful. I got the vegan eggplant dish and it was so good I’d recommend it to non-vegans. My husband got the salmon and said he was very pleased. Don’t order water if you can help it, as they charge $8 for a fancy bottle. 20% gratuity is automatic which I appreciate as a former server, kudos to the owner for taking care of his staff. Our server was exceptional so I had no problem with 20%, and if you’re too cheap to tip, don’t go out to eat in the first place!!!!! Cocktails are served on a dry ice tray which adds very nice ambiance. I would highly recommend Guru!

Over all Guru Restaurant was a decent experience with the exception of my Salmon was cold and my dining companions meals were all warm. I would definitely give this place a second chance.

I’m rooting for this one. Interesting new restaurant with lots of potential. Amazing vibe and atmosphere — you really feel like you’re dining somewhere unique to the neighborhood. Surprised to find a 20% added on to bill ( it’s disclosed in the small print at the bottom of the QR code menu).

I went on Jan 5 for my bday this is a new establishment so it wasn’t busy. Wasn’t noisy and ambiance was perfect for my friends and I we could actually hear ourselves talk. The food and drinks were great, love the drink presentation. The owner was our waiter and his service was great. I would go again.

this was our second time at this new restaurant in Decatur. It was even better than the first time. The food was excellent, especially the salmon and steak as well as the oysters Rockefeller. The service was impeccable. The owner and chef mingle easily with the guests but do not hover. The ambience is a step up from other upscale restaurants in the Decatur area. We will be going back.

Amazing eating experience at the recently opened Guru restaurant. Slick, yet cozy interior, fabulous, friendly, and timely service of both drinks and our meals. I recommend the chicken and waffles, delicious. And wonderful personal touch with chef stopping by our table a couple of times to check how we like the food, and have a chat. Will definitely be back, and hey, it only 5 minutes from my home, lucky me!

This is one of the best experiences I have had in a long time! The cocktails are so refreshing and taste very good! I had the Guru Burger. It was made with perfection!! One of the best burgers I have had in a long time. The staff was so professional and very knowledgeable! The Sweet GURU Temptation brownie was beyond tasty!!! I got to meet the Chef who was so kind and really made us feel welcomed! The chicken savoy was good as well!! I have a good feeling this restaurant will be around for a long time!! Thanks for an enjoyable experience!
