We are a first come first serve all day restaurant. Walk-ins of all party sizes are encouraged at any time!
Our journey started on a quiet West Village street called Carmine. Two brothers, Dave and Pete, made a bold decision. Without any business experience, any real plan, or anything resembling a thought beyond getting through the day, we opened a restaurant. What we had lacked in experience we made up for with spirit and creativity. We did not want to be businessmen. We were artists. Our little shop at 33 Carmine St. was our original canvas. We set out with a simple mission: to create a place where people would want to be. We named it after our dogs, Moose and Goose Lane.

I booked this Grey Dog location after looking at pictures of the W 16th Street location. That location couldn't take a party of 8 at the time we needed. This location is much smaller and I was concerned when we arrived that we would be crowded. However, they were able to sit us in a spot with benches on two sides and we were able to move easily. The food is terrific, the service was great and you can't beat the price for a NYC restaurant. I would definitely return.

Requested outside seating (indoors is way too loud), and found ourselves enjoying a sunny day. A little too sunny, and they allowed us to move to a table in the shed when one opened up. Servers were lovely, food was prompt and delicious. (I had the club sandwich, my friend the breakfast omelette, both with slight modifications that were executed well). This is a gem of a local spot.

We were a large group sitting outdoors. It was easy to hear the conversation so I’d say noise level was great. We all enjoyed the meal. Best of all, the waiter took extra care to help us get a wonderful group photo shot with the family dog. He used some clever tricks to get the dog, always the center of our attention, to look right at the camera.

Varied menu and very good food. Friendly and attentive staff who were fine with us lingering on a weekday. We will definitely go back.

The service was friendly and prompt. However, the food was a disappointment. The only food that was any good was deep fried. Burnt nachos, soggy salad, dry rice, chewy wings, all simple menu items that were on the brink of inedible. Sunday night chef was really dialing it in. Employ and pay competitively for better kitchen staff.

I love this place. The food is amazing and a good value. However, the noise level is (for the third time) unbearable. The staff kindly turned the music down but since we were at lunch (not 9 p.m.), it would be more welcoming to have the volume lower.
