Located in Lincoln Square's unique Rockwell Corridor, The Green Post (No. 49) is a testament to the centuries-old traditions and evolution of the Public House. Our aspiration is to offer guests a home outside of theirs; a place to meet with friends, host a meeting, read a book, play a game, work remotely, or watch a match amongst the historical architecture of our three rooms with additional garden spaces.

Green Post has food which is way above normal pub grub and outstanding gin and tonics. Fun place. We had the fish and chips and a panzanella salad. The fish was a real fillet, very fresh and well cooked, served with a chutney, an aoeli, a tartar sauce and some exotic pea spread which is apparently known in Ireland, and the panzanella salad was unique and exceptional.

Nice neighborhood place. Was a bit surprised by the lack of diversity in the place. Felt awful that they sat us (a brown couple) in the back corner behind a screen. Perhaps to hide us from the other patronage. Ironic since it’s a British pub menu with many Indian origin dishes. Would have liked to go back, but clearly we were not welcome.

Dined during Northside restaurant week. Good food for an introduction to some what new pub in our area.

Don’t forget to ask for the specials. Our waiter didn’t do it and we picked the fish and chips on a Friday during lent. As we were ready to leave another table walked in and their waiter mentioned mussels as the special. Would have liked those!

Rotating specials are new to us so we appreciate your patience as we work out some kinks in getting them up and running; fret not, though, the Cider Mussels were quite popular so they aren't gone forever!

It’s not clear where to go if you have a reservation The host was rude. The overhead music was absolutely awful. The place was nice. Our server was great although you put the order in over the phone and pay over your phone so I am not feeling the suggested 22% tip for the limited interactions. Food was good…one of the best battered fish in the city in my opinion as an Englishman. More pie choices would be nice…chicken and mushroom, steak and ale etc. Think of Gregg’s a famous high street UK bakers and you will be inundated! Would come back.
