The Grand Tier Restaurant is located inside The Metropolitan Opera House and offers both a la carte and prix fixe menus. The restaurant welcomes the general public, not just ticketed guests of the Metropolitan Opera House. Reservations required. The restaurant’s location makes it the perfect pre-theater dining experience for all guests of Lincoln Center. The exquisite modern American cuisine and classic dining room, highlighted by Chagall murals and brilliant Swarovski crystal chandeliers, make it a memorable destination regardless of the occasion. Our doors open two hours before curtains go up.
Ticketed guests of the Metropolitan Opera may also dine in the restaurant at intermission, but must pre-order and reserve via phone: 212.799.3400, or email: thegrandtier@patinagroup.com . Reservations for ticketed guests dining at intermission ONLY, are not taken via Open Table.
Please note that proof of vaccination is no longer required.

R&G Goat's Milk Camembert are small wheels of Camembert made in Cohoes, NY, by master cheesemaker Sean O'Conner with milk from local farms in Saratoga County. This soft goat's milk camembert is aged with ashes to offer a tangy jewel with a bloomy rind and a buttery finish

Style: Semi-Hard, Flavored Cheddar. Origin: Beehive Cheese, Ogden, Utah, USA. Milk: Pasteurized Cow's. Semi-Hard, Jersey cow's milk cheese that is hand-rubbed with the Turkish coffee grind of the Beehive Blend from the Colorado Legacy Coffee Company. French Superior Lavender buds are ground together with the coffee and the mixture is diluted with oil to create the exterior rub. This is the most lovely dinner experience. The food is fantastic - I love getting the dessert at intermission. The service is impeccable. The atmosphere is so beautiful - the beautiful chandeliers, the enormous Marc Chagall painting, fresh flowers and on and on. It is the prefect pre theatre dinner.

Main course Food was average but price was high for what received. Appetizers and dessert were good. Drinks were also expensive for non-alcoholic drinks. $8 per coke or coffee (without refills) is ridiculous.

I've been to the Met several times and was always curious about the Grand Tier Restaurant, so I decided to try it with a friend who I needed to reconnect with. It turned out to be a transformative experience. The only way to experience the event! Excellent food, attentive service, dessert at intermission...do it! Indulge yourself! It's worth it.

We went to the matinee for Turandot. We had lunch before the performance and dessert at the intermission. It’s the only way to experience the Met Opera.

The vibe, food, service and convenience were amazing. Great view. Super menu. Fab service. And it was extraordinary to order dessert, wYch the 1st act, and return to our same table for dessert.

Perfect place for a pre-theater dinner. The friendly, efficient staff know how to ensure you make your theater time. Not only that, but the food is delicious enough to recommend even if you aren’t coming to the theater. The night we were there, we had a generous serving of perfectly cooked salmon and an interesting cheese course.

Went to a pre opera dinner. The menu was not clear to me on how the prix fix menu worked. I was interested in the additional seafood and cheese course and the waiter told me it would be too much food (for one person). He said I had to choose the seafood or a first course and a cheese course or a dessert course. I then asked if there were recommendations for wine at each course and he said yes they had a wine tasting menu, but did not provide it except verbally. The waiter was clearly in a rush and as each course was delivered there was no conversation or even eye contact. I was dining alone and literally felt I was at a wedding with the waiters just trying to get the food out and back. The food itself was excellent, portions were good. Even if I hadn't eaten all the food, I would have liked to try the 2 other options (seafood and dessert). I even heard another waiter offer a guest that they could back during intermission for another course. I wish my waiter had been more thoughtful about what I was interested in. Overall for $200 meal by myself, I expected more. Another note: All the main waiters were male. I thought that was interesting.

High prices, bad service, felt very rushed for no reason, cold food. It used to be much better than this.
