Food was amazing cooked very well the waitress was good and gave just the right amount of input e.g. asking if everything was alright just the right amount. Also the waitress informed us the menu was changing and advised to follow on Instagram which they now have a new following

Poor very very poor quality food tiny tiny bit of chicken veg over cooked and covered in herbs to cover up poor quality eaten here before and it’s been decent Never again it was a goodbye lunch for my daughter so very disappointing absolutely ripped off with such basic poor quality food

Lovely Sunday lunch, one person was missing roast potatoes but didn’t realise until the end of the meal. Overall great service from our waitress didn’t get her name. Will return for a Sunday roast

We often go to The George and Dragon, there is a superb menu. The food is always good, tasty and value for money (great chef). The staff are very friendly and accommodating. It's a beautiful setting inside and out, with a fabulous beer garden.

Can't fault the table service, but didn't think the food was as good as last time we came. Still very nice, but burger was a bit overcooked and dry for my taste.

Food was good value for money and decent portion sizes. I had the panko deep fried Brie with Chilli sauce to start, main was a fish finger wrap with skinny fries with a side salad. They ran out of vanilla ice cream and didn't realise until I ordered my desert!?🤔. Offered a variaty of others that didn't really go with a chocolate brownie sundae but I chose cherry - was thinking black forest gateau🙃. Overall I would defo recommend and I will defo be back Thanks George and the Dragon 🙂

Our visit didn’t start well as before we had even looked at the menu we were told in no uncertain terms that we would need to vacate our table after an hour an a half. We then felt rushed throughout the whole meal. We had not seen our relatives for a while and would have liked a leisurely lunch without having to move to the bar later . My husband is recovering from a knee operation and he found the stairs to the toilet very steep and the lack of lighting was dangerous. The food was very average except for the beef and lamb both of which were very tough, overcooked and cut much too thickly. We left after our desserts to have coffee elsewhere which was not our original plan.

Dear Shelagh, we are sorry to hear about the discomfort your husband experienced using our stairs, unfortunately being a listed building we are very limited as to what we can change, and sorry to say they are rather steep. I have spoken to the team on shift that day and there was an overbooking, a mistake on our part, thank you so much for being understanding and moving into the bar to finish off with coffee, I wish they had given them to you complimentary as you kindly moved into the bar to help us. Im sorry you were not able to bring the roast beef and lamb to our attention, this would have been replaced for you straight away. Perfect for eating out. You could have a big meal or go for the lunch time menu. Great choice and good value. Have been quite a few times and will definitely go again.

Nice venue staff very attentive. Music a little loud. Food was nice we both had a roast dinner the portions could be a little bigger and roast potatoes not very crispy.

There was no check back. My daughter was sprayed when a server was spraying a near by table. This went over my daughters hand but could of also gone over her food. Strange to have cubed/diced veg on a Sunday roast would be more for a stew pot. My daughter had the mushroom option on her vegetarian plate but this was inedible. But as no check back and when plates cleared was not asked if everything was OK. Bought bill when asked for the had to wait for another server to bring the card payment machine.

Lovely Sunday lunch. I booked for early lunch 12.30 so the restaurant wasn’t too busy. Ordered the lamb roast which came very promptly and was delicious so only room for ice cream after but again delicious. Service was very good and attentive from our server Jess so all in all a very nice Sunday experience. Will return

My friend and I had a great meal. The staff were friendly and efficient and the pub/tables/cutlery etc were spotless

Menu choice lacking for evening meal. Quite expensive. Restaurant too warm in evening.

This is a bright and airy pub. Nice modern surroundings and all very clean. Staff were lovely, all very friendly. The food, I had fish and chips, was delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit. I'll be back!

Booked meal for six for 2.30pm. Arrived before 2 pm and were accommodated immediately. Service was excellent and the food was absolutely superb. Very pleased with choice following a funeral and before a long drive home.

Nice clean surroundings, good meal choices on menu, food was great. Staff very pleasant. Only grumble, steps down to toilets very deep, difficult if you have disability.

Popped in for something to eat on a Saturday afternoon and wasn’t disappointed at all. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food we ordered was very good.

Pre-Christmas meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. Really good value for money the only thing I would find fault with is there was no fish on menu apart from a battered fish & chip meal. Would certainly go again as food was delicious.

Welcome could have been more welcoming. Wine I liked not on the menu. Did not have the starter we chose, so would have liked to have been advised before. Meat overcooked which a discount was offered. Waiter/waitress very attentive.

With recent change of ownership the pub is once again back to being a nice place to eat out. Have recommended it to several friends who stopped using it under previous ownership and all have been back several times since. Good food, beer and very welcoming and attentive staff. Highly recommended.
