Always a great experience at Franklin Room. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Food and drinks are well presented, and the flavor profiles are excellent. Great neighborhood place in River North.

Food was meh. $68 for ribeye steak would be fine if the cut was generous, but it was not. Old Fashioned was very good. Wine options are not expansive. Service was solid.

The restaurant does not disappoint ! Service was very professional and friendly, cocktails very nicely done and food excellent. Wine list is quite small, but meets the needs of the menu. Overall a wonderful dining spot for good quality food and drink without pretense. My only negative is the stairway to the main level is dark and should have lights on the stairs.

Food was very good. However if you order the chicken roulade dont expect much chicken. The place is extremely small and there were customers standing hovering over our table while we ate. The noise level was painful. You could not really engage your dinner partner.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience. We ordered the charred broccolini and whipped ricotta/goat cheese app. The chicken roulaude was well balanced and the maitake mushrooms along with the fingerling potatoes were a great accompaniment to the whole dish. Our server was well versed in the menu and informative. Shout out to the guy from Rochester New York. Service was pristine.

My aunt and I are visiting from California and we had the best time at Franklin Room! It was such a vibe! The ambiance was very grown. The food was delicious and the service was top tier!

This may have been the best meal I’ve ever eaten. For appetizers, we had the truffled tuna crudo and the whipped formaggio. So delicious, so complex. The butcher’s steak and Chilean sea bass were incredible. Again, so many flavors that worked really well together and resulted in a unique flavor experience. The old fashioned was top notch. I need to go back soon—I want to try the whole menu!

Really great food and especially the drinks. Service was great, our waiter was Anthony and he was friendly and cool. The restaurant ambiance and decor is good for groups and date nights if you're not looking for a fancy type restaurant.

Great hidden spot off the main River North streets. The basement ambience is very intimate. All the cocktails are a nice twist on the traditional. The food menu is seafood leaning but everything I've tried has been excellent. Large bourbon menu as well with some unique offerings.

Took someone here for a date and it was lovely! The food and drinks were amazing. I’d recommend the lamb chops for the appetizer! I had the Chilean sea bass for my entree and my date had the salmon. Both were really delicious. I will say the noise level was a bit loud but it was still enjoyable. Definitely a great dinner spot!

The ambiance and decor is amazing in this place. It reminds you of one of those scenes in a romcom where you meet up for a date in some kind of, bespoke bar, next to a train in the big city. The waiter, attentive and engaging, the food, on point! Lamb chops, mango cheesecake with a sorbet ice cream, just wild! For my first time here, it checked all the boxes for a date night. I cannot say enough good things about my first dinner experience here. The service was exceptional — finding us a perfect table and then ushering us through a lovely dinner. The food was excellent, followed by a quite nice dessert. Highly recommended.

Our server, Andrew was so knowledgeable about the bourbon menu, even encouraged my husband to try something new. The food did not disappoint. The spicy bourbon mussels were a perfect start to dinner, and the sea bass as an entrée, was incredible. A great weekday dinner, no crowds, and a cozy room.

It was excellent. The one issue for us is we wanted to have an espresso martini , a chocolate martini and an espresso to end our lovely night and they could not accommodate. They did not have any of the ingredients to make any of our requested drinks. It seemed their bar was amply loaded with liquor so to not have any chocolate liquors, even if they did not have espresso seemed odd, they should be able to make a chocolate martini. We had to go somewhere else to end our evening . That being said, everything else was wonderful.

First off, the staff was wonderful. They were quick and kind, and very professional. We went for our 15th anniversary and they treated us well. We didn’t get the best seat in the house for a milestone anniversary, but they still took wonderful care of us. My wife started with the You Dirty Bird cocktail, which she thought tasted like those little white packaged doughnuts. I had their Old Fashioned and I will say this - I don’t know if I’ll ever have an Old Fashioned this good again. The food was hit or miss for us. The oysters were amazing - best accompaniments we’ve ever had with oysters. The mushroom tartine didn’t impress me as much as it did my wife. I felt it was unbalanced and too heavy, with not enough finesse. For our entrees, my wife had the bay scallops which had a green pea risotto as its side. She felt the dish was too salty and the portion felt too small. I had the miso salmon - the cut was quite large and it was cooked to perfection. The sides were salmon croquettes topped with roe, pickled cauliflower and thinly sliced zucchini. Everything tasted great together, but the zucchini felt undercooked, if not completely raw. I’m not even sure the zucchini was necessary on this dish. Even with those criticisms, we cleared our plates! To end, they treated us to a fun dessert that wasn’t on the menu; it was like a meringue with whipped cream and sorbet. All in all, we loved it but couldn’t seem to agree on what we loved. If you go, get the Old Fashioned!!!

This was my second time dining there and I enjoyed it even more than the first. The charred broccolini is a treat on its own-smoky, crispy with a smear of creamy goodness and a touch of a tangy vinaigrette. The Chilean sea bass was perfectly cooked with morels and spring veggies. I appreciate the efficient yet friendly service as well. Looking forward to my next trip to Chicago.

Anthony is the man! Everything about his service was on point - made us feel right at home. Food was the cherry on top of the service - every single thing was perfectly made, presented, and absolutely delicious. Wish we were local, we'd be regs :)
