The restaurant was very busy and we had a limited time before our film, but the staff worked to get our meals ready quickly despite the hectic nature of the evening. Thank you again!

The food was very nice albeit a little bit too expensive for what it was. The highlight, surprisingly, were the roast veg that came alongside the beef shin pie. Delicious! The mash and pie could have both done with additional seasoning but were still nice. The pie was a pot pie and as such did not have a proper pie case, just a lid. This is not a pie, the is a pot pie and should be labelled as such, very disappointing. Mussels were very nice. Sticky toffee pudding was delicious, I'm very picky when it comes to those. Staff were lovely. Music was great. A lot of classics from Bowie to Sublime.

Very busy after the Scotland v England match. Despite this service was good. Good was good. No complaints and would be happy to recommend to friends.

We booked a table because the rugby was in and knew it would be busy. There is only a very limited menu on match days . It took a while for the food to arrive and the portion of curry that arrived was tiny( smallest portion ever with only 4 pieces of chicken)

Lovely fry up and a nice pint. Portion size could have been bigger but it was tasty and the service was great. Very friendly and attentive staff, even when it got busy for the rugby.

Very friendly service and a nice atmosphere. Menu was slightly limited (it is a pub, rather than a restaurant) but quality was fine. Decent range of drinks including cask and craft beers.

Great service. Great place to eat. However do not order the crumble dessert. Not very good at all. Everything else was very good.

Food is reasonably priced and a cut above normal 'bar' food - staff are wonderful and very welcoming, ambience in the Fountain is always good thanks to the staff and their attentive but laid back attitude.

The waitress was great with my kids, the food was lovely and served reasonably quickly, and our special requests were seen to. We were attended to when needed and not disturbed all the time which was nice. It was clean and nicely decorated and when it got busier it wasn't overly loud as the tables were spaced nicely apart. We were given water for the table without having to request it. Would recommend, will go back.

I absolutely love The Fountain. They had a 3 for 2 lunch menu and the food was amazing. The staff were so lovely and friendly. I also went in with my mum, who was visiting, just before Christmas and, again, the food and service were great. I wish I'd booked here for a Hogmanay dinner, as the restaurant/bar that I went to further down the road (on Angle Park Terrace) was a huge disappointment, with unfriendly staff, where you couldn't even get to the bar because of seating.

Superb as always. Took my seven year old for lunch and the staff were excellent during what was a really busy afternoon. They were great with my son and we both loved the food, really good experience all round.

we havent been in the fountain since pre covid, and it being closed for so very long it dropped off the radar. that changed entirely on Saturday there, the food was just superb, good portions, excellent ingredients, cooked perfectly, no too expensive, and as good as we remembered it could be. it was a ten out of 8 for us. loved it, kid friendly too so will be back. PS they love dogs anaw. get in there aye.

I took my husband for an evening meal for his birthday on Thursday and we both had the chicken curry. The food was excellent and I drank a mulled cider which was delicious. We shared the crumble desert to finish. The staff are so helpful and efficient, it's very good value for money and will go again.

Food and drink was good and the ambience as well. But at a some point (and it was not closing time) the waitress brought us the bill that we had not asked for, so we felt they asked us to leave, and it is weird because we were not told at the beginning that we needed the table at a certain time as we normally do, there were tables around in the same room (4) empty and we had booked.

Thank you for your review, we have emailed you. It is standard practice for us to close off bills around 11pm when a table no longer requires any more drinks. Our member of staff brought you the bill just after midnight but should have explained you were welcome to stay. Please get back in touch if you wish to discuss this further and we hope this misunderstanding won’t put you off visiting again.

My husband and I went to the Fountain last Thursday night. They do a Steak Night on a Thursday but I ate a chicken meal and my husband had fish and chips. It was busy but OK. The staff were very helpful, there was a little background music. The food was excellent. The christmas cocktails are lovely. Would recommend.
