The Foundry Rooftop restaurant is located on the sixth floor of the AC Hotel in downtown Dayton. Inspired by the fire within foundries, the factories that produce metal castings, this wood-fired kitchen embraces the flame. Devour new takes on internally-inspired cuisine with our Loaded Potato Pizza and Ingot Crab Crakes, or our signature Foundry Reuben and Charred Meatballs. Hearty, midwestern favorites from Chef's David Belknap and Jason Findley anchor our menu like our Crispy Pork Belly and 24-Hour Chicken. Fantastic service, classy group of people great looking space well thought through menu. Overall, food was very good. Just missing a little something. Hard to say what- definetly a great restaurant and location. Can’t beat the view. The meatballs and Paparadelle were good, but the sauce was just kind of benign and interesting. The steak poutine was really steak served with gravy fries. I Don’t think the gravy had cheese curds in it, which poutine is supposed to have. The food was good, but it was just missing a little ooomph to make it great

Food could be better. Hummus too dry. Needs tahini & olive oil. Pineapple juice served without a straw, very sour, maybe spoiled. Husband’s martini with no olives. My brined chicken was not tender this time. The previous time I had it, it was delicious. Service was excellent. We love coming there. Missed seeing Christian & Francesca.

My friend ordered the cheese steak and a side salad. She asked for her salad to come out first. She received her salad on the same plate as her sandwich. The salad was warm due to the plate being hot. She had to cancel the salad and switch to fries.

We were disappointed that at 3 pm we could not get a dinner menu. It seemed late for a breakfast and brunch menu. We had scheduled our visit based on the dinner menu.

Touted as upscale rooftop restaurant but it’s really a casual sports bar hangout. Music so loud you could not hear people sitting near you and it was the same heavy bass beat over and over. Food was decent but nothing special and expensive for what it was especially with necessary valet parking. We did have a very good waiter however.

Neat place with a nice view. Food was ok - menu could be more descriptive or staff better at answering questions. Soup was delicious, main course ok. Service was not great. Asked three times for our drinks (and there seemed to be no recollection we had already asked) and once food came we never saw our waitress again until we were nearly finished, we had to ask for refills and then had to ask well after we were done for our check. There was a lot of wait staff standing near kitchen so I don't believe it was a staffing issue. Might give them another try, but was disappointed in the experience overall. (group of three, weeknight)

Great food and fun environment if not a bit loud music wise. Very cool rooftop bar. Nice bourbon selection but very overpriced if you know anything about bourbon

There are no bar reservations just table, even though the open table app says bar reservations are possible. Please remove this feature for this location Music was too loud and inappropriate genre for the clientele. Need a dress code - too many baseball hats and dirty athletic shoes. This place has great potential and supet view of the city, but is not structured for long term success. The foundry Needs to cater to the young professionals and they will come in droves

Food is very good... had the steak poutine. Great bar drinks. Service was spot on. The noise level is a little too loud for easy casual conversation, but the atmosphere is otherwise energetic and fun.

The burrata appetizer was really tasty. The burger was so so as my Boyfriend had one. The bar staff was unattentive. We had a cocktail. Ordered our food after enjoying our drinks for a bit. After delivery of our burgers the service fell off. I had to ask a bartender for another drink. There was something off putting about the smell of the burger. It was not their fault, just my senses and not something I could eat. The plate with my burger cut in half sat there. Even after I enjoyed another cocktail. It wasn’t until we paid and the bartender asked me if I wanted a box for my burger that she found out I wasn’t going to eat it. Then she took it off the bill. The unfortunate part was the lack of noticing it sitting there the whole time I finished my drink. Many of the bartenders saw it sitting there and no one asked about it. The fact also that the bar wasn’t full and that was the service was sad to me. I shouldn’t have to be the one who is on top of service. I work in the service industry. Sometimes it’s nice to go out and be taken care of. They fell short.

We had a large group and everyone tried something different. Every single thing was amazing! We loved it so much that we went back the next day for Sunday brunch.

Food is very good. I had pizza and my wife had a burger which she raved about. She rated her burger 10 out of 10. Pizza vs the rest of the food timing is still kind of weird but when the food gets there it is great. We put the Foundry on our go-to list of places to eat down town.

My partner and I had a great time at the Foundry's eclipse viewing party, which was our first time at the Foundry! We sat outside on the patio and Rey waited on us. Rey was kind, courteous, and had a great knack for timing; in other words, we never felt as though Rey interrupted our conversations, but Rey still checked in on us frequently enough that we were never left feeling adrift. We enjoyed a fried mozzarella appetizer with a recommended red wine pairing, which was on the special eclipse menu. There was a live DJ and we liked the music, though at times it was difficult to hear each other talking. Because it was my first and (so far) only trip to the Foundry, I don't know how common it is to have the live music. Overall, we had a fantastic time and we certainly plan to come back!

The food was very good. For a hotel restaurant, we thought the Sunday brunch breakfast options were very limited. We were surprised we were not offered salt and pepper, and when I asked for butter for my biscuit, the server said he would have to go downstairs to get some. He did provide some jelly. An evening dinner might be a better choice to return again.

Fun dining experience with an energetic vibe. Janna at the bar served us drinks and food and she was excellent! We looked for the manager hoping to sing her praises, but we were running short on time so couldn't wait. I hope he reads this! The food was delicious and selections offered are creative.

Really enjoyed this place. The ambiance was great and our food was delicious. My only complaint is that the parking is non existent and you have to fend for yourself on the street. I understand that they have valet service but they were nowhere to be found so got lucky and found a street spot not too far away. They need to figure this out.

I loved the whole vibe, food was great, ambiance was great. I will definitely be back especially as it warms up. The patio areas are beautiful.

Atmosphere was modern and top notch. Service was good. Overall The Foundry seemed somewhat overwhelmed by the crowds at Easter brunch. One table mate was served his pizza… and then it took twenty minutes, maybe more, for the other three meals to arrive. That was unacceptable. My very tasty avocado toast was lukewarm. My husband’s omelet was hot and delicious. My daughter’s fried chicken and waffle were nicely flavored but the waffle was very dry and tough and it was difficult to find the meat on the chicken wings. Lots of potential so will likely try it again on a normal evening.

We were at The Foundry for Easter Brunch. It was crowded, but they had plenty of staff. That is why I’m baffled at why the service was terrible. Our server took forever to get to us & we waited for a really long time for our food. They hired a singer to perform and she was really loud. The food was excellent; I had the shrimp & grits & it was probably the best I’ve had. We will go back because it’s such a beautiful place & the food is great, but they need to improve the service.

The food was good! The waiter was truly amazing. The food was taken back and remade because it had tomatoes on it which I express my displeasure for. He made it right and overall 5 stars. Not a big fan of adding salt on cook after the fact. Cradle to grave service definitely would go back if nothing else but cocktails
