The Farmhouse at Redcoats is set in a beautiful 15th century farmhouse and gardens nestled in the north Hertfordshire countryside. Sherwin Jacobs heads the kitchen and promises to deliver an experience you will not forget specialising in quality, fresh, local produce. Private dinning is available in the charismatic main house rooms. Please call us directly to book an afternoon tea, 24 hour notice is needed.

Great service but the food was inconsistent at best. The sirloin steak for two (£85) was mainly fat and when you compare to the offering of Hawksmoor, it’s a poor reflection of the restaurant. Lovely ambience and great service but completely over priced.

We were very impressed with our evening at the Farmhouse. The food was really outstanding, from the size and quality of the king prawns to the delicate sauce accompanying the hake, all of the food was exquisite. I would certainly return.

Third time here, food and service always great. Was a little noisy but good that people enjoyed their experience. Decided to get a cigar from behind the bar which was unfortunately stale. Apart from that really enjoyed my anniversary meal..

Una Gemma preziosa nascosta nella stupenda cornice della campagna Ciltern Hills, Perfetto come sempre, il servizio perfetto, lo chef e la sua brigata, con la loro cucina impeccabile, che da origine ad un esplosione di sapori nel palato, dalla freschezza e autenticità dei prodotti all arredo semplice ed elegante al tempo stesso, Nulla è fuori posto in questa meravigliosa location, di gran lunga superiore allo standard medio inglese. Cucina tradizionale rivisitata in chiave moderna e sofisticata.

Wow. What a lovely time we had. Haven’t been here for a while and what a shame. We had a lovely meal - ham hock, lamb and pork chop. All were delicious. The food was presented well and was tasty. The service was excellent and the ambience was good too. A busy place - I can understand why . Will be going back soon. Highly recommend.

We added another person to our table so had to move into the garden, and was pleasantly surprised as it was beautiful. Staff were lovely and friendly and helpful. Tables could probably have been spread out a little more as we were able to hear loud peoples conversations on the table next to us. Food was lovely also, really enjoyed our Sunday lunch, but unfortunately there wasn’t anything we fancied for dessert. They also gave my son a special treat as it was his 21st, which was really appreciated.
