"The world drinks tea. Come have some with us today!" The English Tea Room and Eatery is one of the shops you don't expect to find on the short but interesting Lee Lane in Covington's walkable city core. The shop offers more than 260 choices of teas and serves fresh-baked scones with house-made clotted cream and house-made lemon curd along with all-day high tea [finger sandwiches, savories & chocolate covered strawberries] and many other English food items such as banger & mash, Coronation Chicken Salad, Scotch eggs, quiches, Shepherd's Pie, etc.

We are located on the corner of Rutland St. and N. Florida St. is just a block from the antique stores on Lee Lane and one block from the art galleries on Columbia. Off-street parking is available, wheelchair Lift and ample free parking on Florida St. and Rutland St and nearby Free Public Parking [Ox lot].

Service was attentive. Ambiance was fabulous! Know you are going for experience and not to get “full” and you will not be disappointed. There is a share charge for the High Tea options. It was over $100 for 3 of us to share Prince William’s High Tea. The sconces were amazing! We will be back!

Wonderful service, terrific setting but greatly disappointed by the food. I encourage the owners to research how to make an English scones. They don't resemble or taste like a hockey puck.

I've been eating at the tea room regularly for years. It's one of my absolute favorite places to eat for the atmosphere and the fantastic variety of tea choices. My favorite food items (as a vegan) are the hummus plate (without the cheese), beans on toast, and the veggie sandwich on pumpernickel. The tea list is incredible. My favorites are: Monks Blend, Morning Rain, Bella Coola, Mr Darcy, London Fog, Tuscany Pear, Tutti Fruiti, Apple Spice, Golden Puerh, White Blueberry, Bangkok Blend, and White Angels. I recommend sitting on the porch if it's good weather or the Churchill Room if you want a more relaxed lounging feeling for your meal. I highly recommend reservations for Fridays and Saturdays because they are usually very busy. Mondays and Tuesdays are usually more relaxed. Overall, this is my favorite place to take friends who are visiting and enjoy an afternoon of tea with friends and family.

Celebrated Mother’s Day with my daughter as she was out of town on Mother’s Day. It was the perfect place for a Mother’s Day luncheon. Have been there many times before. Always a great experience. Teas are great. Over 200 to choose from. We try a different flavor each time we go. Food is always good. Friendly atmosphere. Every room looks like a room from an English home. Food is moderately priced. Both American and English dishes on the menu. It is an old house that was renovated into a restaurant. Each room has a different name associated with the Royal family. Have children’s teas as well. Have hats and boas to dress up. Great place for a special event. But plan ahead or make reservations.

The English Tearoom is charming and memorable. My mom and I have eaten here twice for Mother’s Day, and we are always impressed! The food is delicious, as well as the tea. There is something for everyone. The owners have come to us and shared their sweet story, and the waiters are so very sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable. They are always willing to help, too! The area is also a great place to walk around and antique shop, if you are into that. We will be going back again next year (or sooner if we can)!

Our server was fantastic! We asked for recommendations on the teas and she was spot in with what we were wanting every time. We sat in the Sancuary sunroom and it was quiet and out of the which is what we wanted. However it was such a lovely day we may book the outdoor garden if returning. The only downside is that we really could've used an extra 30 mins. Other than that, everything was perfect. Would highly recommend!
