The Elgin is a bar & restaurant serving upscale fare situated just south of Rockefeller Center & steps from Broadway & Times Square. Our goal is to provide sophisticated cocktails, a carefully curated craft & seasonal beer list, amazing food in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Please join us!
The Elgin’s 4 main principals, Peter Pernicone, Darwin Conner, Paul Baum & Christine Trauben, have known each other for 30 years. They all grew up on the lower west side of NYC in Chelsea & had a goal of owning a bar together & could not be more excited about opening The Elgin. As an acknowledgment of their collective history, they named a signature cocktail—the Chelsea 1724—after their neighborhood. Darwin & Paul grew up in Chelsea on 17th St and Peter & Christine lived on 24th St. They are joined by Patrick Callaghan who has been working with Peter for many years.

Incredibly loud. Could not have a conversation. Menu selection poor. Food only acceptable.

Popped in for drinks and apps. Delicious choices! Cauliflower, cheeseburger egg rolls and pigs in a blankley did not disappoint!

Very pleasant staff. But food not so much :( Cold cauliflower steak (raw and not well seasoned), mushroom pizza too salty. Stale bread. Sorry. Will not return. Cocktails and desserts were v good, though ! So maybe for those items only. 200$ plus for 4 people :(

Great, quick dinner before a show at Radio City. We only had apps but they were fabulous and lots of other show goers were there at the same time. Would definitely go again before a show.

Delicious food! The salads were the perfect size. Two people in our party had salmon on their salads, and it was cooked exactly as ordered by each individual. Chicken Milanese was great too.

Had the fried cauliflower and I didn’t know the sauce was really spicy. I should have asked for the sauce on the side. That was an appetizer. The appetizer was enough for a main course. I ordered the salad for my main & it was the smaller than the appetizer. My daughter ordered an appetizer also which was huge. Their lava cake was delicious. I did like the fact when we arrived at the restaurant it was empty & they wanted to seat us near on top of the cash register. I asked if we could sit in the back for a table for 2 & he said it’s reserved. I told him we had reservations & the place was empty. He offered us another table across from the register. Food was good but I won’t be back.

The Wait Staff is excellent. Very nice place tucked in a block away from Rockefeller Center. Good menu.

Food was very mediocre. Mosquitoes swarming in outdoor seating areas. Inside was dark and loud.
