Located on the corner of 3rd Avenue South & Demonbreun, The Diner is the crown jewel of Downtown Nashville’s SoBro district. Our 6 story restaurant boasts six unique floors, each with gorgeous views of downtown. We had a great experience. The staff were friendly and engaging. The food was great. We had a table in the corner by the window. It was fabulous. Harold was our server and took great care of us.

It was amazing the the view was beautiful, it is a perfect place for a romantic evening.

Food was mediocre at best. Discussed dairy allergy with server and they sent out mashed potatoes with butter and cream.

Despite the reviews and hype, this venue did not deliver. The food was mediocre at best and the service was abysmal.

After a great dinner on the 4th floor we went upstairs to the bar on 6 for a cocktail. We sat for almost 10 minutes while 2 bartenders ignored us. Finally I flagged one of them down and asked about getting served who snipped that “I’ll get to you when I can…”. These guys were NOT busy. We got up and walked out.

We had two dishes – one salmon and the mahi-mahi. Both came with green beans, which had the correct amount of crunch. The cheese and grits that came with the mahi-mahi was outstanding. Two wines one Merlot and the other Pinot noir. Yes, I know Reds, but we enjoyed them prior to the meal in front of one of the open air tables Floor 4 which allowed us to look over part of the city. It got a little noisy at times when the party buses came by but otherwise Quiet.

We were recommended The Diner is a must! Unfortunately, for us, it was a must not return. First, all windows and doors were open, and bit was cold! The menu is very limited. Chicken and biscuits were passable. The biscuits were the size of an Oreo. The server played with her hair the entire time. It may be a landmark but that’s all I can say about it.

Took a party of 10 and would have preferred to be at a table not a large booth but it all worked out ok. Food and service were good.
