Lobster was not great. Charged $8 for water times 2. I just wished the would of beef up front. Very expensive for the cost.

This was a confusing experience, overall. The images and menu pictures do not match the actual restaurant’s storefront. It hails the name Poppi’s Crazy Lobster, not Crazy Lobster Destin, nor do the logos match. Assumably, there was some sort of an overhaul, if so, it was definitely not a good one. I don’t really care to spend too much energy reviewing this place, but the ambience and execution were both comical. From the waiter not having drink menus and water on the table in an effort to upsell us on mineral and/or sparkling water, to the “lobster melt” being a chewy piece of fried lobster drenched in a generic store-bought barbecue sauce then placed on a microwaved slice of Texas toast, which was then placed on a “bed” of store-bought baby spinach—the punchline came in the form of the wine list that a “sommelier” (whom was not present) supposed would pair well with such an embarrassment of a dish. We were seated adjacent to the kitchen, where the server insisted on bringing the dishes and drinks from behind us—something that was both unsafe and just not smart. I’m more than happy and able to pay for a nice meal, or even just a good experience if the food is subpar. However, this place offered neither. The aura was equivalent to if IKEA attempted to sell Fugu and truffles instead of Swedish meatballs and chicken tenders. Poppi’s Crazy Lobster/Crazy Lobster Destin, whichever they’re choosing to go by for whatever reason, was a cringe-worthy experience, one that couldn’t have ended soon enough. Hands down the worst restaurant we visited while in Destin. Actually, it was the only bad restaurant experience we had while in Destin, unfortunately.

Great staff, food was good but not great, especially for the price. $400 for 6 dinners with only spring water, 4 cocktails and entrees seems excessive. Requested outdoor seating at reservation but had indoor table, although outdoor was available. Very few patrons so noise level was fine. Enjoyed the meal but unlikely to return.

The scallop appetizer was great! I ordered the lobster melt for my entree and it was disappointing. The lobster was overdone and the jam too spicy.

Our waiter was awesome! We enjoyed him. The food was a bit underwhelming. I had steak medallions and scallops with some vegetables for $48ish. Pretty small portions. The 2 scallops were good though.

Picked the Crazy Lobster as a last minute choice, and we weren’t disappointed in the slightest! Great food, but just a little pricey. However, the portions are large (the fried shrimp and fries was more than one person should attempt to eat, and the lobster bisque was amazing. Definitely on the “need to return to” list. You will not be disappointed!

We are in Destin for vacation and wanted to have a date night. So glad we came here. Would definitely be back next time we are in Destin
