The TA Ranch offers farm to table, locally sourced, made from scratch dining. Honoring Johnson County Wyoming's ranching tradition, the TA specializes in steak and lamb entrees. The TA also offers chicken, seafood and burgers in a relaxed atmosphere. The TA menu offers something for everyone at every price point. Located on the historic site of the Johnson County Cattle War, the TA continues this tradition as a working cattle ranch today. At the TA, dine in an authentic ranch environment surrounded by the TA Grove of century old cotton wood trees. The TA Ranch was established in 1882 just south of Buffalo Wyoming and is the historic site of the Johnson County Cattle War. Today the TA is a working cattle ranch and a guest ranch (rooms available) with visitors from around the world. Dine in the historic cookhouse built in 1906 from hand hewn logs while looking on the stunning views that haven't changed since 1892.

We love the TA ranch. The history, wildlife is stunning. Last night an owl was in the tree outside our window. Geese, pronghorn and deer. Two horses had foals with in last 2 weeks. Katie our waitress is the best. She has awesome personality. The kitchen is excellent. Go hungry portions are large.

Thanksgiving- very attentive . My Duck was too salty. My potatoes were too salty too. But the rest was great. The Prime rib was great. And the turkey dressing was good and the cranberry was good

Wonderful ambience, warm inviting dining room. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Food was excellent.

We were on our way to Yellowstone NP and stayed at the Buffalo KOA for the night and the clerk there recommended The Cookhouse. Boy are we grateful to her! Beautiful drive out to a working ranch and great views. We shared the Reef and Beef between each couple but honestly it would have fed all four of us! And it was so tasty! The char on the scallops and veggies was perfect. The steak was tender and flavorful. And the crispy potatoes were so good it was hard to believe they were potatoes! A truly special meal! It was so good we made a special stop on our way home from Yellowstone to eat there again! And it was spectacular the second time too! The chef is young but very talented and his pairings and presentation of meat, sauces and sides is inspired!

We chose The Cookhouse for the special occasion of my wife's birthday. You have a beautiful place there. Everyone was very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the brussel sprouts appetizer. We also enjoyed a caesar salad. However, our steak was mostly fat. It was very flavorful, but both of us had to cut away about half our steak.

We are within 2 weeks of completing a 3 month Motorhome adventure across Canada & the Midwest. Our meal at TA Ranch Cookhouse was the best meal we have had while on our trip! The Shrimp Baguette appetizer was the most amazing version of Shrimp Toast I have ever eaten! Our Steaks and Scallops main entry were perfectly done. It was my birthday and The Cookhouse treated me to a wonderful Lemon Ricotta Cake topped with Blueberries. This was a truly amazing meal!

Had the $60 16 oz steak and scallops and split with wife. Steak was good. Menu was very limited, NOT what you see online. Disappointed with menu choices. Fried chicken, shrimp, salmon for $16 or $60 steak, strange.
