At the Cheese Lounge, we want to show you how best to enjoy our cheese: paired with the perfect wine and shared with great company. Warm and relaxed, the Cheese Lounge is the perfect place for lunch, dinner, or even to just enjoy a good glass of wine.
Every Wednesday evening we host a wine and cheese tasting event led by our wonderful team, tickets can be purchased via the events section on our website.

I went with my 16year old grandson as he took quite a required taste for all sorts of cheese. He took the Camembert and olives where I had the French onion soup with large croutons and then sliced potatoes in a cheese sauce corniches and salami. It was lovely and we both were stuffed as the portions were large. Very nice indeed.

The smell may not entice you in, but believe me it is definitely worth it! The cheese and meats on offer are outstanding, and the staff are knowledgeable, pleasant and eager to help. It was very delicious. Well done The Cheese Lounge!

Wonderful lunch experience at the Cheese Lounge! Visit Edinburgh annually from Ireland and have been trying to fit this in for years, it will be top of the list every year from now on! I just wish we gouda done it earlier, staff were grate, very friendly and happy to indulge in our uneducated “cheese chat”! The vinyl records were the finishing touch that we adored but never expected. Reasonably priced too, had a bit more cheddar in my pocket when I left than I thought. As a famous Austrian cheese monger one said “I’ll Brie back!” Niall

Cheese and charcuterie are always very good but there is no point trying to produce warm food with such limited facilities, we waited far too long for our lukewarm soup and an unnecessary amount of cheese on toast. Stick to what you are good at and try to serve your red wine at the proper temperature, (though it was a cold day)

Literally the best food I’ve had in Edinburgh since I moved here. The cheese is absolutely immaculate! As well, the guy who put together our cheese play made absolutely stunning choices for us to try and have a great drink recommendation. It was also fantastic to be able to try the cheese and then buy a massive block of it to take home from the store. The one downer is that the record player was only playing one side of a Tracy Chapman album the whole time we were there so we were stuck in Tracy Chapman purgatory - but the cheese mad it all worth it. 10/10 would go again.

If you love cheese you’ll love the cheese lounge. Staff are knowledgeable about the cheeses served, we had the lunchtime deal with wine and it did not disappoint

We went early so it was very quiet. The cheese selection was made very special to suit our taste. Very good service. Highly recommended.

Great place to meet for a catch up. We had the lunch time special, lovely selection of cheese and decent wine. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Very good value, will definitely be back!

Small advice that would be appreciated, maybe ask a little more of the customer's tastes when ordering a cheeseboard because unfortunately my friend really didn’t like two cheeses in particular. However, I found the cheeses delicious and I enjoyed tasting 5 from different countries. The explanations were clear. Just a very creamy cheese, by that I mean « very flowing cheese » was missing to make the difference. 😋

Super service and advice. Meat and cheese platter with good supply of bread & oatcakes. Reasonably priced vinho verde. Bit of gipsy kings on vinyl in background. Room was quiet for a Saturday night, so get along there and treat yourself! 👍

Wow, what a lovely experience. My husband and I went for a little lunch date, and we will definitely be back! The cheeses and wine were delicious, the staff was so kind and friendly, and the ambience was top notch.

Small, but with a nice atmosphere. Menu is perfect for a quick lunch or just to chat over a few small dishes. Staff are exceptionally pleasant and knowledgeable.

We were looking for something different to do in Edinburgh and found this little place and as cheese fans we swoop in. Great choice: small and vintage place, menu all based on very affordable cheeses. You can also customise the cutting boards according to your cheese preferences. Online booking required.

The Cheese Lounge at Mellis Cheese shop in Morningside is a great venue for a lunch. The menu is small but perfectly formed. We had the Raclette, Potatoes & Finocchiona with a bottle of the house white - delicious, and food-wise, more than an adequate portion. The person serving us was very cheery and helpful. Good food, good wine, good vibe and good value. Highly recommend for cheese lovers.

Lovely eating and drinking experience at the cheese lounge, Felt very special ,food selection exquisite, service fantastic, the staff are so knowledgable and love to answer any questions. Small and bijou, a wee taste of heaven. Cannot recommend this place enough, a must visit and we will definitely be back!

Always feel like I’m in a Parisienne café sipping fruity red wine and nibbling on olives, bread and delicious cheeses. Love the Cheese Lounge.
