If I could give the service a 0 I would. Awful place. The avocado toast I could make at home, super basic. No one came by to check on us/they forgot to bring me my $11 orange juice that tasted like tropicana. Not fresh pressed at all don’t let them fool you. We sat without drinks and food for over 30+ minutes. Debated on leaving mid-wait for food. Server told us they dont take cash and took cash at the table beside us. I never leave reviews but this was just trash.

I used to love this place! The food was actually tasty like 2 years ago… not sure what changed, but my last trip there wasn’t amazing.

We had just finished the 40 mile 5 boro bike ride and were hungry. I was a vegetarian for 15 and I love my veggies. I was really looking forward to the meal. It was meh. I shared the coconut green curry and zucchini noodle dish with my husband. The curry was not especially well spiced and the eggplant was not cooked enough. In addition, it was supposed to come with a pita. We had to ask the waitress for it to sop up the sauce. It took a very long time to get the pita. The waitress said she gave us extra because of the delay but it was about a quarter of a pita cut into 4 triangles. My daughter ordered dessert and my husband an espresso. Her dessert came but no espresso. When I later decided to order dessert I reminded the waitress about the espresso. Bad service, not terrible food but nothing I would want again. I could make better myself. The cardamom chai tea was excellent. The tiramusu needed way more coffee flavor.

Though I am a committed omnivore, I am a big fan of The Butcher's Daughter's fare. The magical textures and flavours of carrot hummus, broccolini, and various greens and pasta weaved together, stitched with tangy dressings and seasonings, make for a delightful sensory experience in a gorgeously lit and cosy space.
