Hmmm, my last visit was pre Covid and it was pretty poor then as the place was empty and there was only two of us for lunch which ended up a disaster. I always try to give a venue a second chance and I realise they are /were short staffed on a bank holiday Monday. A big shout out to the young lady behind the bar who served us well with drinks but the main meals (Fish especially had obviously been hanging about before we finally got it served to the table). I doubt we/I will be returning any time soon which is a pity as it is a really nice place. Usually our family all have a sweet but Palace were playing Man U and we sensed a big Palace win and the thought off waiting another 45 minutes for the dessert to arrive was just too much. Palace won BTW 4-0.

I recently visited the bull and dog with my young family. The lady serving was lovely but it was only her waiting on and serving so service was slow and not great as it got busier. The food was average and what you'd expect for the price. Would return for drinks in the summer as the beer garden is lovely and has a good play area for my toddler.

Food was really disappointing everything was timed or frozen was really looking forward to my roast dinner it’s was all tined veg frozen potatoes beef was really chewy my daughter got lan Lasagna came with no garlic bread just on its own what looked microwaved staff were lovely but to come and eat again I wouldn’t and wouldn’t recommend for food

This is the first time we've ventured out for Christmas dinner! We chose the Bull & Dog as we come with our dog all year round. The food is always delicious and Christmas day was no different! It was fab! The atmosphere was great, chilled and relaxed. The service was great too! Time between our dishes was just right! They done themselves proud!

Supermarket or Hollands frozen style pie with seemingly tinned peas for THIRTEEN QUID! Nothing homemade about the meal. Place was almost empty yet took about 15mins for our food order to be taken. Pie could have done with another minute in the microwave once it arrived. First and last time I will go here. Far better pubs within 5 minutes of this place.

Special request information was not reviewed prior to us arriving after mentioning we were coming with a dog. We were then seated into an area that 5 mins later we were told was not an area were they usually allow dogs to be even though a staff member seated us there and could obviously notice the dog in our company. The food took a long time to arrive to the table, 4/6 meals arrived at the same time with the remaining 2 taking a further 10+ minutes to come out after chasing for them. Due to the long time of these meals arriving some of the food was slightly colder and did not feel compelelty cooked with one meal needing to be returned for reheating. These food errors were blamed on a "new chef". The food itself was good and the pub atmosphere was nice.

Service was friendly albeit very slow considering only 4 or 5 tables occupied with either 2 or 4 diners per table. Very poor menu choice half of it being wraps which were substituted into sandwiches!!!

Shocking service, took over 1 hour 15 minutes just to get 1 starter. Good was coming out all over the place. Staff had no idea what was going on in the kitchen and just kept saying food was on its way and the restaurant wasn't even that busy. Will not be returning and ended up leaving before the main meals as we had been there that long we got fed up.

My starter was freezing cold. There were flys all over the curtains next to our table We did tell waitress We moved tables - still flys We ate our meal quite quickly and left.

We order Sunday roast , was not expecting frozen roast potatoes, and when chicken roast arrived it was still in the bone which we weren't expecting we thought it would be chicken sliced

Fantastic service, staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant was clean and tidy. It was very busy outside due to hot weather, plenty of seating and space. Service was quick Food was great

The service was good, we have been before there was 7 in our party for a birthday meal, the food took a long time to come out and 3 of the meals was extremely poor quality we had a pie that was like a brick over cooked and dry a lasagne that was the same and a steak that cudnt be cut or chewed through the rest was just ok 👌

We were not taken to our seat as usual. Instead, just told to sit anywhere on that side. Strange. Food great, lovely service. My friend said the fish was tiny but nice.

Absolutely awful and I will NEVER visit again. No body serving, the table next to us got their food so late and then had to wait another 20 minutes of one of their meals. We waited so long for our food, no body offered us drinks. The food was disgusting to the point my partner was nearly being sick when he got in after the raw like gammon you served him. Staff need to be attending customers and seeing as though there were about 10 people in the restaurant part, I don’t think your customers should be waiting so long.

The food was good, service was good except for in the bar. The wine glass was dirty, the barstaff explained that there were no more glasses because they had been busy, gave the glass a quick rinse and returned it sopping wet.

Normally you know if you go for Sunday lunch at the Bull and Dog it is great value. We have visited many times but this time the food was not that great. Unfortunately the prices have gone up and the quality of the food has gone down. That being said the waiting team are as good as ever.

Sat by a door to the garden, when complained about the draft waitress said yes that’s why we don’t normally use this table, why use it at all then? Food quality fell well below normal standard, over cooked meat, veg and mash sat under a lamp not what you could say fresh, stick toffee pudding with an over baked sponge.

The food was exceptional however on arrival they couldn’t find our booking but squeezed us in telling us we had 1.5 hrs before they needed the table. So, will be choosing another restaurant in future.
