The BOX on the Water is situated in prime position on both the Ettalong foreshore and beach. Its absolute waterfront location has panoramic views out across Broken Bay to its namesake, Box Head, and over to Sydney's northern beaches.

Architecturally designed with a stylish, modern aesthetic, The BOX on the Water restaurant, bar and beach kiosk is just an hour and a half drive from central Sydney or twenty five minutes on the passenger ferry from Palm Beach.

We all enjoyed our meals. Service was mostly good, however we did have to ask for water & get staff attention to place our order & ask for the bill. The outlook is always good here even if the weather isn't favourable

We had our lunch for wedding anniversary and ordered the hot & cold seafood platter $84 each and our girl has her own kid’s meal $16 which includes juice/soft drinks and two scoops ice cream. We are very satisfied with the quality of the foods and one if the staffs who serve us is very knowledgeable about GF as she is GF too. She assured us GF foods for our kid’s meal. Our 6 yo really enjoyed the fish and chips. She said very delicious! The chips and grilled fish are very crunchy and not wet. My husband and I thought we won’t get full but we felt full after the 2nd hot dish. The mussel sauce could be less salt other than that all is very nice. The bread and seafood are very fresh. We will visit again to try other foods m. Nice to see the water view in a little cafe

The whole experience was fantastic. View over the water is wonderful and food was amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try the special dining experience. Warm and welcoming and attentive staff. Wonderful

We’ve been to The Box a few times and all previous times it was great - awesome food and service. Last night was disappointing. The food was just average and the one vegetarian option on the menu was bland and small, with no protein component. We ordered dessert after our meals which took so long to come. We asked the waitress how much longer it would be and she told us it was coming, and that the chefs only ‘prepare’ the desserts once ordered. When our crème brules arrived they were not the right consistency - they had not been cooked enough and were completely runny. I’ve had an upset stomach all day today. So disappointing because it’s not cheap, the location is beautiful, and every other time we’ve been it was great. Not sure if we will go back 😢

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner for our 43rd anniversary. Best prawns we have had for a long time and the barrumundi dish was delicious. They even arranged for a beautiful near full moon rise!

Amazing food & Service. Stand out dishes for us over the two nights that we visited were the grilled octopus, the duck liver pate and the sticky butterscotch dessert.

Great experience, great food. Maybe groups of 4 could be serviced outside. Couple of replacements from the menu didn’t change high rating for a quality food. Surcharge due to holiday was hurting a bit. 4 and a hag out of five is a great rating. Will come back for sure when in Ettalong Beach.

First time visitor. Overall experience was pretty good. Location good and ambience was energetic. Food was acceptable while not being great. Wine was average. Service was friendly. Speed of service was acceptable. Would recommend with the above qualifications.

This restaurant has a wonderful view and position. A menu of fresh seasonal produce and elegant dishes that are like works of art. Thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes and highly recommend this spot and will definitely be back. Do not miss the tomato carpaccio dish with raspberries- outstanding.

We were disappointed with our food. My husband had squid which was too Chewy to eat. My meal was beautifully presented but the mango and avocado salad was too soggy.

Excellent food and a very welcoming staff. Great views over the water and the mirrors ensure even when seated with back to water, you miss nothing! Great venue for guests from interstate or overseas. We'll be back!

Great location and feel about the place. Staff very attentive and friendly. Food good…I went for the steamed mussels..maybe a few more in the pot for the price would have been better..sauce was a little acidic. Prefer a more creamy and deep sauce but that’s a personal preference…😀 Would recommend

Most everything was good but when ordering drinks I enquired about the carbohydrate content of the “boutique beers but the waiter had no idea - I’m a type 1 diabetic

We booked this restaurant out of the blue while on holiday in the area. It really exceeded expectations! The oysters with wasabi, citrus and fish roe are a must! Service was attentive and pleasant and the views over the bay were stunning. A little more wine knowledge from the staff would have been helpful but this did not dampen the overall experience. Thanks for a wonderful lunch!

Entre was lovely, I had a steak and it was over cooked and chewy in parts with grissle. For $48 I would expect more also not very much on the plate. 2 stems of broccoli and 2 small potatoes… not very impressed with that. Drinks are over priced but beautiful spot otherwise

The seafood was delicious and beautifully prepared. We also loved the stracciatella & heirloom tomato salad. Will heartily recommend The BOX on the Water to others.

We loved our whole experience! Was a special anniversary and we had a memorable night My husband shared dishes all delicious our favourites were the amazing mussels and garlic chilli prawns ! Service very friendly and professional! Dessert was delicious! We will return one fine day !

Views and excellent food Lovely table with views out to ocean and boats sailing past. Good drinks options. We had oysters, 2 entrees ( tomato, mango and avocado salad, fries. Didn’t need mains.

I had visitors from Sydney - we all thoroughly enjoyed the food, service was great and was very good value for money l- even had loose leaf tea. Great choice for a great night out!!!
