The BOX on the Water is situated in prime position on both the Ettalong foreshore and beach. Its absolute waterfront location has panoramic views out across Broken Bay to its namesake, Box Head, and over to Sydney's northern beaches.

Architecturally designed with a stylish, modern aesthetic, The BOX on the Water restaurant, bar and beach kiosk is just an hour and a half drive from central Sydney or twenty five minutes on the passenger ferry from Palm Beach.

We all enjoyed our meals. Service was mostly good, however we did have to ask for water & get staff attention to place our order & ask for the bill. The outlook is always good here even if the weather isn't favourable

We had our lunch for wedding anniversary and ordered the hot & cold seafood platter $84 each and our girl has her own kid’s meal $16 which includes juice/soft drinks and two scoops ice cream. We are very satisfied with the quality of the foods and one if the staffs who serve us is very knowledgeable about GF as she is GF too. She assured us GF foods for our kid’s meal. Our 6 yo really enjoyed the fish and chips. She said very delicious! The chips and grilled fish are very crunchy and not wet. My husband and I thought we won’t get full but we felt full after the 2nd hot dish. The mussel sauce could be less salt other than that all is very nice. The bread and seafood are very fresh. We will visit again to try other foods m. Nice to see the water view in a little cafe

The whole experience was fantastic. View over the water is wonderful and food was amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try the special dining experience. Warm and welcoming and attentive staff. Wonderful

We’ve been to The Box a few times and all previous times it was great - awesome food and service. Last night was disappointing. The food was just average and the one vegetarian option on the menu was bland and small, with no protein component. We ordered dessert after our meals which took so long to come. We asked the waitress how much longer it would be and she told us it was coming, and that the chefs only ‘prepare’ the desserts once ordered. When our crème brules arrived they were not the right consistency - they had not been cooked enough and were completely runny. I’ve had an upset stomach all day today. So disappointing because it’s not cheap, the location is beautiful, and every other time we’ve been it was great. Not sure if we will go back 😢

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner for our 43rd anniversary. Best prawns we have had for a long time and the barrumundi dish was delicious. They even arranged for a beautiful near full moon rise!
