Our beautifully designed tearoom offers guests a truly divine experience with a Liverpool twist including afternoon tea.

Guests can enjoy the sacred ritual of Afternoon Tea in the opulent Botanic Tearoom, where tea sommeliers work to create memorable taste experiences for guests in a floral haven in the heart of the city.

The Afternoon Tea menu features a mixture of sweet and savoury British specialities, including a selection of freshly made pastries, cakes and sandwiches that regularly change to reflect the seasons. All Botanic Tearoom’s scented teas are naturally fragranced with fresh flowers or natural oils to create vivid aromas and timed to perfection using traditional hourglass timers.

Kept waiting on phone for over 10 minutes to say we might be delayed as train was cancelled. Various options for reception/ restaurant/booking in etc and nobody answered phone ! We arrived anyway but concerned that we might have been turned away because of lateness. Direct phone number to the restaurant would be helpful assuming someone would answer it 😡

Beautiful, ambient venue! But the service, the table setting and the tea didn’t match that. It took 20 minutes to get something to drink, and the young, inexperienced staff forgot what we had ordered. I expect some creativity and care when it comes to setting afternoon tea tables. A plain white cup, no flowers, no table cloth, doesn’t really do it for me. I also expect a selection of finer teas to choose from and definitely not tea bags! They used a table in the restaurant to put used bottles, glasses and dirty dishes on. Unfortunately we were sat next to that. It definitely took away from the experience. We were there for 1,5-2 hours and that’s how long it took for them to clear that table. I will personally not go there for afternoon tea again but I still gave it four stars. The potential to become the best in the city is definitely there and the staff is very friendly, only inexperienced. The vegan food was good.

Awful service and far too expensive for one butty/cake each. Staff took nearly an hour to bring us tea but was quick bringing the bill over

The food was nice but not worth £40pp. Ham and mustard and egg mayonnaise sandwiches doesn't warrant that cost. Our young waitress was lovely but quite upsetting to see her and other staff visibly upset towards the end of our meal. From what i could see it looked as if they were getting a rollicking from the Manager. Seeing three young staff crying is not acceptable and not a good culture to promote.

Booked this as a Christmas gift for a family member. We stayed at this hotel and had the afternoon tea booked during our stay. Unfortunately the tea room we booked was closed the day we had booked, as we were the only afternoon tea booked that day. Considering the price it would have been nice if they could accommodate our booking in the pre booked room. Ended up having the afternoon tea in the main dining area of the hotel. Because of this we spent 20 mins waiting for milk to go with the tea and the waiters didn’t know what was on the menu for the afternoon tea! Very disappointed

Food was OK. Cakes were yummy, scone was doughy and edge of bread on some sandwiches hard. Service OK. Had to get up and ask for the hot drinks that came with the afternoon tea as it was not offered. Very over priced in relation to quality of food and service. Plus a 12% service charge for 3 people. Cheaper to have afternoon tea at the Panoramic with an amazing view, excellent food and service. Will not return.

Lovely afternoon tea, all the food was really fresh and nothing was too much trouble from the person who greeted us to the waitress who looked after us. Would recommend
