    We really ended our dinner during our visit to Asheville. The Gazpacho was amazing, and we savored the Braised Short Ribs and Beef Tenderloin. The housemate ice cream was terrific!

    We got into Asheville late this evening because of terrible traffic on the way here from Louisville… a bad wreck on 64 … 3 hours sitting in the car. We got to the Blackbird at 7:30, just in time for our reservation and really in need of a cocktail after the day we had. Drinks were fine but food was mediocre.. I had the mussels appetizer and the mussels were sandy and very difficult to get out of their shells. (No small fork) .. not much taste either. Salads were small, too expensive and nothing special. Portions of trout were sad looking , everything skimpy and definitely not worth the price. My martini was $18.50 others in our party of 4 had a red wine $17 , vodka and soda $16.50.. $9 for a piece of French bread with cheese. Maybe these are the prices every place in this tourist town charges , I sure hope not . This was our first day here .. we have four more to go so hope it gets better. Server seemed bored with his job. Sorry, but I would definitely not recommend this place!!

    Best Omelett I’ve had in years. The potatoes needed to be cooked a little more. A little mushy and should be crispier.

    Terrible. To be fair it was at the end of brunch and maybe that’s the reason it was so bad. I was looking forward to eating here but, it just wasn’t any good.

    Out of beignets. Burnt the last tray of biscuits so no biscuits. Slow service. Patty melt was dry as a dog biscuit. They comped a couple cheap items bc of the all the issues but it still wasn’t enough to redeem the situation. I wish I would have send my Patty melt back. We should have left after they said they were out of beignets and they burnt the biscuits.

    Had a great anniversary dinner. The restaurant was not crowded and in a good location. We had drinks here before, but got dinner on this trip. The food was great and priced fairly. I would eat here again.

    Appetizers and salads and bread were top notch. Fish was very fresh and tasty. The side, however, was average. Beef dish was too salty. But the worst part was that we waited over an hour to get our entrees.
