Spectacular, in every way! This is our favorite restaurant for special occasions. The food is inventive and delicious. The place is small, intimate, and quiet. We can't wait to return.

This is a wonderful upscale restaurant. A bit pricey but so well worth it. This will be our go-to special occasion dining option. There are quite a few more dishes on the menu I will need to taste.

We went there for our 40th anniversary and had an absolutely scrumptious meal. The service was impeccable and every bite of food was delicious. We hadn't had such a fine dining experience in decades. It was a truly memorable experience.

Adam, the Sommelier, was phenomenal he made our $450 dinner for two absolutely worth every penny. The wine pairings were in point, and we left our meal selection up to Jay, and he hit a homerun as well. Go in, relax, and let the food and wine come to you.

This is the third time we have been there, and it was a great as ever. Adam and Sean make this a great experience. their knowledge of wine and pairings really help make the experience phenomenal. the chef there is great. We cannot think of anything that isn't perfect in every way. Wonderful as always. Will go again when we are back in the area.

The service and food were fantastic. Great selection of wines. Adam the sommelier is very knowledgeable and was very helpful in our wine selection. He even offered additions to out appetizers.

The food was great!! Our server was very attentive. Tables are VERY CLOSE together. We were celebrating our anniversary and the table next to us was so close… they should have joined us. The biggest disappointment, I felt the experience was rushed. My food was served so quick, I could barely finish before the next course was out. I was asked what I wanted for dessert while eating my salad. Server said “ dessert take up to 15 minutes to prepare”. If we are spending $375 for two including tip (which was added to bill), the experience should not be rushed. I understand tables need to be turned however, at no point in time were all the tables full.

Our date was on 4/26/24. We dressed nicely for the Black Pearl as it is a fine dining establishment. We were greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant is super cozy,seating 35-40 . Our waiter named Jay was very attentive and friendly and remembered serving us previously . He explained the specials and new additions to their menu .We discussed our meal plan. We have enjoyed dining there twice before, the last time was this past Christmas Eve. Both times we had their outstanding Chilean sea bass as our entree, so this time we both wanted to try the filet . We mentioned that we had had a glass of Pinot noir before arriving, and Jay suggested that we might speak with their sommelier Adam. We agreed as Adam who is wonderful had helped elevate our experience both times before. Adam also is very good at what he does. He is energetic,enthusiastic,and seems deeply interested in using his knowledge and experience with wine and food to improve your dining experience. He kind of takes it from excellent to super excellent. So we talked about our plan and Adam inquired about a price range we were comfortable with. He came up with a 2019 Syrah from Cote Rotie France, we loved it! So let’s talk food. We started off with their delicious white truffle lobster risotto, the Black Pearl salad followed and was also a joy with its warm poppyseed dressing. At this point we were treated to a tiny popsicle of watermelon with an herbed feta as a palate cleanser, it was very nice. And almost lastly we received the Hereford filets . The filet was sliced in half horizontally and laid on a bed of mashed potatoes with asparagus spears . This was a high quality piece of meat cooked to perfection. We are both in our 60’s and agreed that we had just eaten the best filet in our lives! The steak had a delicious crust of herbs and sear and it nearly melted in your mouth and tasted so good! 2 delectable raspberry chocolates closed the best meal of the year. Try them! You will love it!

Absolutely amazing. I have eaten at some of the finest restaurants in the United States and Europe and these guys are right there with them. Everything was perfect, the service was impeccable, the food was amazing, and the desert was something I’ve never experience. We both had the filet mignon for our entree which was perfect. The hors d oeuvres were unique and delicious, the lobster risotto was alive with flavor and we couldn’t stop eating it, the Black pearl salad was the most unique salad dressing and absolutely delicious and finally the Black Pearl ice cream was like eating a bag of black licorice candy. This entire meal was fabulous and they have a great wine list. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. This is a definite must for dinner. You will be very pleased.

Quaint spot in the middle of downtown Dunedin. Perfect for an intimate date night. Food is next level, ambiance was amazing, and the service was top notch. Awesome experience overall

In a word, spectacular. Adam, the sommelier was an unexpected delight; absolutely spot on with the champagne and wine pairings, and a devil of a good salesman on a gorgeous espresso with perfect crema to finish off a sumptuous meal. Our server, Matthew was masterful at describing each selection from the amuse bouche to the main entree, and he remained attentive and exceedingly pleasant through the entire experience. Standouts were the escargot, the filet topped with foie gras which was prepared to absolute perfection, as well as the sea bass. Looking forward to our next experience at the Black Pearl.

It started with a warm welcoming as we entered. When we were sat, we were asked if we were comfortable where we were at. Throughout our dining experience, they ensured that we were happy with everything. The food was as exceptional as the service we received. Best way to describe is the way I told my wife, "My taste buds are doing back-flips".

Intrusive and noisy environment, not a nice and quiet experience. We had dinner. The food was above average, but what could be expected. What I have a complaint about is the service and the ambiance in the restaurant. We went there to celebrate a special occasion and be ourselves in what should be a high en private and quiet environment, but that definitely failed. The food was about average of what could be expected in a place like this. The primary complaint is about the intrusive service and the ambiance in the restaurant. The wait staff, is extremely intrusive and annoying. I know they're trying to do their best to cater for our wishes and give us the best service, however it was just way too much with their constant intrusive interruptions and disturbance of our conversation. Even when we were enjoying our entree we couldn't even get 10-15 minutes time for ourselves to enjoy that without being disturbed by a waiter showing the dessert menu - super annoying. On top of all this a loud and obnoxious large group of people came in, a large table in the middle was booked for 12-14 people, even though it says on their website that groups of max 10 people can be accomodated. This happened in the middle of our dinner and totally ruined the quiet ambiance, and since the restaurant is a very small place no-one could hear a word except their loud talk, which left us with a feeling to get out of there as soon as possible. All in all not a very nice and quiet dinner and evening I reached out to the restaurant with this feedback, but they didn't care to come back to me. Just another way of saying they don't care about their quests.

My husband and I visited the Black Pearl for my birthday dinner and both agreed it was the best restaurant we’ve ever been to. The most incredible food from start to finish and our waiter Jay was also amazing.
