The Black Grape - a new small plate restaurant located on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Expect small plates, wine & good times in a stunning setting. This custom designed wine bar & restaurant is the ideal setting for intimate date night dining, drinks with friends or a quick snack as you people watch in the heart of the city. Our menu is a gastronomic tour de force with inspiration from around the globe. One thing unites all our dishes however - bold, punchy flavours and plates that are perfect for sharing. Good if served rather quickly. Some plates were superb, others rather bog standard. Bread and the mozzarella some of the best…… battered prawns and the ‘Marie Rose’ type dressing disappointing. Wine was great, post dinner cocktails a let down. Don’t know if I would visit again.

A friend and I visited for lunch for the first time, and had a lovely meal. The food was excellent, we also had a couple of cocktails each and a bottle of wine. The stand out dishes were the tuna tartare, the carpaccio and the buffalo mozzarella - all so delicious. I’d like to compliment the staff who waited on our table, two young women, one of whom was on a trial shift, and who provided very friendly and knowledgable service - both a credit to your business.
