We came on a Monday with a party of 6 for college graduation dinner. Our server was fabulous and the other staff, including the bartender, were fantastic about getting drinks out & especially in clearing plates between courses. The sea bass was outstanding. We also loved the calamari and ahi appetizers. The fish & chips and garlic fries were also a favorite. Our entire experience was great & our server made our experience feel special.

I would recommend this place if you are able to sit outside on a sunny day… We did not have any alcohol so I am not sure about the drinks, but the service was great and the staff was very friendly. With that being said, we all felt that it was pricey for, what we had ordered and more importantly that the food was extremely bland.

Unfortunately this will be our last time there. 3 strikes and you’re out. Ambiance is beautiful, which is sad because the service has not improved over the last 2 years. It’s consistently awful. Forgot dinners, forgot add ons, slow slow slow service. The burgers and chicken sandwich were as dry as cardboard with no flavor. The avocado on the chicken was hard as a rock. If only the service and food were as nice as the location this restaurant would get 5 stars from me. Otherwise we won’t ever waste our time again.

Our server was great. She was the only one who gave us great hospitality. The reason why I rated this restaurant 1 star was due to the lack of respect a host had for a customer. We simply asked a question to the host named Brian, and he goes, “I don’t know,” scoffs*, rolls his eyes*, then walked away. I was in complete shock to find out how he had treated us. I thought it was a joke, but we observed him with the other guests and realized that it was indeed his rude attitude. Additionally, we waited atleast an hour for our food. We were seated at 7, and did not get our entrees until 8:20. I am still appalled to receive the type of service from Brian. If he hates his job he should definitely quit.

I had a dish that was similar to chicken marsala during my 1st visit. The dish that I order yesterday was not prepared the same. Our mother had overcooked scallops. The service was excellent .

We were told to wait 15 minutes for our 7:00pm reservation. After waiting 30 minutes, we decided to check with the host stand for our status. We were then seated and waited almost 20 minutes for our server to stop by. Additionally, my fiance works for Hilton and they would not provide her with her food and beverage discount. Due to having to wait so long to be greeted, we passed on having a manager stop by to address the problem. Delicious food, horrible service, would not provide her discount. Unfortunately, we will not ve returning.

Food was very average. Service was terrible - I asked one of the bartenders to change one of the 4 TVs to the NBA playoff games and he said I needed to get the Manager’s approval!!! WTF?!!!😡 The server was average at best! Never going back to that substandard “restaurant”. And oh yeah, parking cost $20!

Great place, super location great views, good selection and portions. However service needs improvement. We were seated properly and our food and drink orders were taken properly and this is when we started the waiting game. What made the wait for meals seem so long is that our BAR order was not delivered for 20 minutes. It was a Tuesday night and a moderate crowd. When all of our orders got to the table, it was fantastic. the waiting game began again. We probably sat there 30 minutes or more waiting for our check. I was able to catch our servers eye and they came and took the check to the cashier promptly. But I feel I had way too much seat time for this meal, I just didn’t budget 2 1/2 hours for dinner.

Food choices are good for a brunch menu and the service was very attentive. The only negative (not really on the restaurant), we valet parked as it was mentioned on the website that there would be validation and when we pulled in there was a sign for this as well. The valet attendants did not seem to understand this and wanted us to park in self-parking as it would be "easier"? After dining, gave the ticket to our server to validate for the parking. There was general confusion on this and we were directed to the front desk of the hotel. The person working front desk was also confused as to why I wanted validation and said to "just give the ticket to the valet". All was OK, no charge, yet this was a confusing experience and took away from the general enjoyment of the restaurant.

The Fish and Chips were by far the best I have had in the area. Great service, great food, they are premium prices as you are at a great location on the water in a very nice hotel but if you're looking for a nice evening out but not having to go all the way to San Francisco, go to Berkeley Boathouse. You can park in their parking lot just make sure to get your ticket validated upon paying your bill!

Overall a very meh experience for a hefty price tag. Many things on the menu unavailable, but not told to us until we were placing orders. Food was just ok. Even though we had a reservation, they were not prepared for our party of 5 and pushed together two different sized tables in the most unappealing part of the restaurant. Won't be returning.

The food was good. The kitchen forgot to cook our food and so it took 1:30 hrs to get our food. The place is nice but in a double tree hotel so ambience is a bit hotel lounge though the view is beautiful.

Restaurant was hard to find, poor signage. No utensils, had to ask. No sugar or cream for coffee, had to ask. Very limited Sunday brunch menu, not like the regular menu. Had expected a lunch menu. Poached eggs were cold. Left disappointed.

There didn't seem to be enough waitstaff. It was very busy, as might be expected on Easter. But even so, the few servers were polite, friendly and helpful. The food was good. My omelet was wonderful and they kindly substituted fruit for potatoes. Some in my party would have liked some low carb options like salad or grilled veggies. One person complained the potatoes were greasy. The Boathouse normally has a seafood roll--but not at brunch. That was disappointing. Ambiance was great--on the marina on a sunny day was lovely. It's hard to reach the restaurant with question. Their voicemail says they will call back. They didn't in my experience. A lot of the items were quite expensive. Many could easily be made at home.

We have been here before many years ago when we lived in the Bay. We were attending a function nearby and wanted to get some delicious cioppino. We ordered the calamari fritti, which was soggy and not even lightly crispy. We also had the delicious chicken Wings. I ordered a tall Cranberry juice with fresh squeezed lemonade, but they added fake lemon juice. They had a whole bowl of Lemons and limes. We shared the cioppino, the crab legs were fresh and delicious. Very little stew but they did give a nice toasted bread with it. We ordered the creme brulee, which was completely charcoal black and left a bitter gas taste in our mouth. The waitress was great, and did have them remake it but I lost our appetite for it. The ambiance was perfect. We were seated by the window, and watched the sunset. From the hostess to the wait staff, it was great. Sadly, our meal wasn't what we remembered.

Made reservations for The Berkeley Boathouse to try it out. We were expecting a nice view and good seafood. They placed us in the middle of the restaurant when there were not many other diners, the shrimp and salmon were undercooked. The service was accommodating, but it took a lot of repeating for the orders to be understood. Both my husband and I got stomach aches. Will not be returning as it was mediocre at best and made us sick.

Not a good experience... Service was slow.. at $85 a person the food came out slow and was cold when it got to it. Soup was lukewarm. Just appeared that they were not prepared for Valentine's Day rush.

We came in for valentine's day. we waited a long long time. my spouse's salad never came, but the rest of the food was ok.

The Berkeley boathouse has definitely passed its prime. This was our first time dining there and we did based on previous reviews. However the food was good not great and definitely not worth the price tag. Glad we visited but not going back there again. Also parking is validated but if not, it’s costly.

We all enjoyed our food (brunch) and the service was great. Attentive waiter and the food came out quickly. Nice dining room with views. Not too busy.

Very nice atmosphere. Great view of the San Francisco Bay. Valet, host, and server provided excellent service. The food was very, very good. Worth the price.

The best thing about this restaurant is the view; directly on the water. When we went there it was a cloudy, stormy day, hence now view. But that is certainly not the restaurant's fault. Breakfast was fine; service was very nice.
