The Beacon Butcher Bar is a labor of love from Tina Houston, owner of Reid’s Café & Catering Co., established here in the High Country since 1999. The Beacon is located in the heart of Boone, NC adjacent to the iconic Water Wheel. Just as we value beautiful ingredients in our catering, The Beacon adheres to a similar message.

In the kitchen, we value the fashion from scratch details as small as the aiolis and dressings we use, to the housemade desserts and pastries, cured and smoked meats, and naturally fermented pickles. Behind the bar, we strive for innovation and discovery from our unique and inspiring cocktails. We work within the seasons of the Blue Ridge to present a deliberate and thoughtful menu. We love the intentional, the specific, the well-cared-for.

Respectively, our market offers a unique selection of local goods and treats. From our featured cloister honey to housemade single origin chocolates, we present the craft and exceptionality of local, artisanal talent.

    The BEACON hosts the Midnight Jazz Jam Sessions following the High Country Jazz Festival Friday + Saturday: 10pm - Midnight. We will dim the overheads, and light candles. You can dance, eat snacks from a special late night menu, and try prohibition era cocktails. The MUSIC will be flowing.

    Loved the atmosphere. Had a pizza and it was mediocre. For a restaurant like this to have pizza on the menu, it should be very special. There are too many places to get good pizza.

    Very unique dining experience. The cocktails were so creative and meal was delicious. The staff was superb. We will be back.

    Treated 4 of by dearest friends to a very special meal at the Beacon yesterday at 5 pm. I am retired and rarely if ever eat out for cost reasons and being content with my simple home meals. We shared 4 different appetizers, 3 desserts and each person had a special cocktails followed by glass of wine except for the 15 year old (she had a mock tail) The server , hostess and bartender were all attentive, helpful, pleasant to deal with each of them made our meal special. The food was absolutely delicious and fabulous, even the foodies of my friends who eat out all the time raved about everything. I will contact the Beacon in person to compliment each staff person by name. It is a local restaurant which is what I always prefer. They got a well deserved large tip from me the "granny" of the group. I plan to go back soon to sit at the bar have a drink, in nice jeans and order cornbread. We did not order that item. I let the others choose so back I go in a few weeks. Worth the food cost for sure and actually the meal was not that expensive considering it is a "fancy" restaurant. Thank you for making a very special event and memory even more meaningful!! Cheers

    From entering to exiting, the service was superb. The staff are very attentive to the diners needs. Imagine that!!! The food was excellent, along with drinks. We will return when in Boone.
