Post 390 met une touche contemporaine sur les plats inspirés des saisons qui reflètent la passion du chef de cuisine Deutmeyer pour les ingrédients frais et des saveurs inoubliables. Au premier étage se trouve la taverne: un menu et une atmosphère décontractée mais sophistiquée, avec un bar de 25 places et quelques banquettes, chauffé par une belle cheminée à quatre côtés. Great meal at Banks Fish House. The seafood was spot on. Freshest oysters I've had in Boston in quite a while and that says quite a lot because raw bars are usually spot on in Boston. The fish house took it to a higher level. There was a bit of a delay and wait between the raw bar and entrees being provided. But honestly it was worth the wait. Def try the mushrooms.

Service was super, super slow. I don't know if they were understaffed. As an example, we told our waitress we wanted to order drinks, she dropped off the drink menu and then didn't return for ~15 minutes.

Our family of five dined here on Mother’s Day right after a show at the theater across the street. The dining main room and overall ambience is very nice. We were eventually given a great table near the windows overlooking Copley Square, but only after first declining a table in a dark back room and then made to wait 15 minutes—despite the fact that the restaurant was only at about 20% capacity at 5:45 PM. There was a definite condescending attitude among the host staff that was very off putting. One of my sons and I ordered lobster rolls. Serving size was generous but the roll was clearly stale, perhaps grilled the day before and reheated in the microwave. That’s totally unacceptable for a $48 entree and I would hate to think someone visiting Boston for the first time would have that as their first lobster roll experience. The wait staff was attentive and nice, however, additional training is needed since our main server reached across me to set down dinner plates and cleared plates from our table while two in our party were still eating their dinners. Again, not something that should happen at a restaurant that considers itself fine dining. This was our first time dining at Banks Fish House so I might give this place a second chance someday for lunch versus a big dinner out. Maybe they were just having a bad day.

Excellent views, good service, delicious food, pleasant ambience. Service was a bit slow, likely due to the fact that it was brunch time on Mother's Day. Some items seemed very expensive and others were very reasonable for the amount and quantity provided. Overall, it was a posh experience that I would definitely enjoy experiencing again.

One of the best brunches I have had in Boston. The fish was so fresh! We had the ceviche of the day, a lobster roll, and fried clams with waffles. All of the food was great. We brought our 1 year old and there was plenty of room for his stroller. We will definitely be going back.

The food was delicious with large portions. Our server was also helpful. I had asked for a to go box for one of my sides and the dish was taken away by someone helping to clear the table and not brought back. When I explained this to the server, they brought me a new order. I would definitely return when in Boston.

We were a table of 6 who have dined at the restaurant many times before, but last nite was not good! While the food was very good, we had significant problems with the service….. including waiting way too long to order and be served,things coming out incorrectly. While our server was lovely and tried, she seemed overwhelmed, and had way too many tables to wait on at the same time. While the General Manager eventually came over and made things right. It was not a good experience for us.

The salad was boring. Just iceberg lettuce with a sprinkling of goat cheese- not what was promised. Tomatoes were fine. Our waiter was hard to find and did not bring the tea, nor milk for the coffee so we got the hostess to bring it. The coffee was cold. Everyone was charming, and the restaurant was lovely. My friend loved her lemon pancakes. I should have ordered fish.

Prices seem to be going up, and portions are getting smaller. The menu changes seasonally, which can be interesting, yet some wonderful menu items have disappeared. It feels as if the menu is trying a little too hard to be interesting and it can be difficult to make an easy choice without needing to ask for modifications. Service was not as attentive as it has been in the past, even though it appeared they had plenty of help.

Pleasant not too loud upstairs dining area. Engaged staff, though could have been a bit more knowledgeable about the food /dishes. Ceviche appetizer spot on and generous Branzino well cooked and not overly flavored. Scallops perfectly cooked and seasoned —1-2 more on plate would have been more generous. Mash and ceaser salad were spot. Interesting menu with non-traditional takes on seafood . Good for speavial occasion /smaller party . I’d go back

Food was good but since I have a Cilantro aversion, I tasted a little in the lettuce. Maybe cross contamination with the lettuce being next to the Cilantro. I wasn’t able to eat any lettuce.

The Banks was absolutely amazing! We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday and every single aspect was amazing. We began at the bar and had some great oysters and cocktails, and the lovely hostess brought up upstairs to our table. The server was one of the best I’ve ever had. I believe her name was Camila, and she was stellar. She took amazing care of us and my wife was over the moon with the tremendous food and excellent service. I would highly recommend this place!

It was just okay. Wouldn’t return or recommend. Our bartender Chris was super friendly and made a wine reco after I didn’t like my first glass, but didn’t try to upsell the more expensive blend. The food was unfortunately average. We ordered two caviar spoons to treat ourselves but it was served on a napkin and tasted quite fishy.

It was a mixed bag of a 1st time experience - not sure I’d go back. Arrived at res time to be offered a table by the bathroom path & just in back of host stand. Asked for another, were advised it would be a short wait. Waited another 20 mins to see many 4 tops empty, told they were ‘larger parties’ - aren’t parties of 3 seated at 4 tops? Nothing about it made sense. Finally seated upstairs in ‘dining room’ & waited a god but before greeted by anyone. Good news, once our main waiter arrived he was really great. Food good. Mixed bag, but with a strong finish. Lots of big parties, private event rooms - expect it to be loud.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was good, and this restaurant could have been good. However, despite the waiter's kindness, there was a lack of coherence in the course of the meal. We had ordered wine from the start and asked for it several times, and it arrived 20 minutes after our starters. Then the main course arrived during the starter and the fish was overcooked. In short, not the restaurant I'd keep in my address book for Boston.

The lamb croquettes and branzino was outstanding! Fabulous service, food, and ambience. Great views of Copley square from upstairs. Outstanding evening and can’t wait to go back. Very enjoyable experience. Really enjoyed it.

Our party of four had a range of dishes starting with a tasty seafood tower (oysters, clams, lobster). My wife was less than thrilled with her crab cakes but the Branzino, Scallops, and other dishes were fine. Crowded and full of vitality, we dined upstairs and other tables seemed to enjoy their stay as well.

Atmosphere is nice and service was good. Food was decent but no "wow factor". $45 for the scallops and there were only 3 of them and not that large either was a bit disappointing. Friend had the tuna and it was good.

The female bartender had a negative attitude and offered little help in finding Gluten Free options for me. The food was good but not exceptional. We’re from the south and expect more hospitality and better food and SMILES!

We went for brunch on a nice spring day. The menu had a lot of the brunch staples but we picked a few of the more interesting dishes. The fried oyster waffles with candied bacon was excellent, and the lobster hash was pretty good. I wouldn't mind coming back to try some of their crudos and ceviche. The environment was bright but definitely a little more business casual than other restaurants.

This is the third time I’ve eaten there. It was Ok but not great. We were seated at a table with French fries & a menu on the floor (?!?!). Service was painfully slow —it was not busy they were obviously understaffed. The food was under seasoned and not very hot. I was there a month ago and everything was much better which made me return. But this last visit was mediocre at best.

The location is perfect when attending a play at the Lyric Stage, plus there is a 15% discount for Lyric attendees. The setting was nice, the service incredible, attentive without being overbearing. I ordered a burger which was cooked perfectly and was great. My only issue is the price of everything else. Of the eighteen entrees only 4 were less than $40 but 8 were over $60. There are a lot of options for anyone who likes sushi or oysters in the starter's menu. It did seem like that was very popular among the other guests.

First time at Bank Street Fish house. Really good fish, and non-fish, dishes. Three different oyster varieties to start, and a great Tuna Steak and Lobster roll followed. Desserts are also good with the Chocolate Pistachio tart being the standout. A little pricey, but the service was very good.

Many times the restaurant experience depends on the server. And this time, our first visit to the Banks Fish House was excellent thanks to Camila. She served as if she was hosting from her own kitchen. She was spot on with her suggestions as to what appetizers complemented our main entrées. And when she asked us how we liked our dishes, she genuinely wanted to know the answer, not just because of excellent server training. Our order? Caesar salad, Hiramasa Crudo, Dover Sole Meunière, Branzino, and… a hot fudge Sundae. Rarely do we order dessert, but when we do, it signals how satisfied we were with our meal.
