We offer Bed and Breakfast accommodation nestled on the banks of the River Coquet in the tranquil hamlet of Weldon Bridge, near Morpeth, Northumberland.

The Anglers Arms has gained an enviable reputation for providing fantastic food for every occasion whether its a quick sandwich at the bar, a relaxing pub lunch with some friends or a romantic meal for a special occasion.

The Anglers Arms can provide a truly unique venue for a wedding reception or private party with meals and catering to suit all tastes and budgets. Take a look at our wedding section for more information.

We also have our own, private stretch of the River Coquet available to guests on a day ticket basis who are keen to test their angling skills on one of England’s most renowned game fishing rivers.

First time in 1st floor restaurant area. We were joined by a lovely couple on holiday. We could easily converse with no issues. Staff were excellent

Set in a picturesque corner of Northumberland the Anglers Arms didn’t disappoint. Lovely attentive staff served excellent food in very generous portions off their extensive menu. Excellent value for money the starters and mains couldn’t be faulted. Can’t comment on the sweets as we were all too full to contemplate afters. Would recommend for anyone who appreciates good food at affordable prices.

We had steak pie and fish and chips all beautifully cooked with good sized portions. This was followed by apple and berry crumble with extra custard. Good service from the staff and a nice atmosphere. Would return and recommend.

What a fabulous place. This is our second visit to stay although we have eaten here a few times. This stay and food was excellent. The staff are all amazing. A very comfortable bar, nice and warm on a cold March day. The rooms were outstanding, modern bathroom and a so comfy large bed. Car park. The dinner menu and breakfast menu are quite extensive and suit all diets. I cannot recommend the Anglers Arms enough. Outstanding on all levels.

This bar/restaurant is dog friendly in all areas for dinner and breakfast. Lovely food served efficiently and humour and personality. Old establishment but clean and well equipped. Good choice of food and good deal on a Wednesday pie night.

The night we stayed we had the 5 selections Tapas Menu (Pattatas Bravas, King Prawns, Meat Balls & Chorizo, Goats Cheese filled Peppers & Lamb Kofta’s) absolutely beautiful 😘. Good portion size and reasonably priced 👍

Great service & fabulous food, ate in restaurant. Only downside was the couple that had large dog in restaurant, that barked, was not under control on long lead which meant was in middle of room & disturbing other diners at their table. Would comeback but would request that in area with no dogs.

Ordered two roast dinners, the meat on both was lovely, roast potatoes anaemic, need more gravy and condiments but not offered any. Several beers on tap but out of. The crackling was inedible and had just been dropped in the deep fat fryer. Had the potential to be great but wasn’t. Service slow and it was quiet.

The food was very good. We both really enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu. We did feel very sorry for the waitress & the chef as they were the only two working. They actually did really well indeed.

General feeling of cost cutting, although it was just nice enough it used to be superb, pork was a little dry, one bite of crackling only which was disappointing, roasties not crisp so not pleasant, it was lovely and hot when served and gravy was tasty. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend despite signposting many friends and family to the Anglers in the past.

We’ve been coming here for over 20 years and though it’s changed hands it’s still as lovely as it ever was. We will certainly continue to come on our anniversary every year. Staff, food and accommodation excellent!!

Another delightful evening at the Anglers Arms. A Burns Supper. the food was exeptional so compliments to the chef, the food is well presented , tasty and hot , with a well thought out variations obviously a very talented Chef. a little more noisy than usual due to bagpipes for burns night which was a lovely addition, well looked after by our waitress. we will be back very soon this is a real gem of a place.

Travelled up to the anglers for date night after going for a Sunday dinner there a month before and it was perfect, exactly the ambience we needed to have a great time, very relaxed atmosphere and attentive, but not over attentive, staff and the food was high level pub grub as far as I’m concerned, would recommend and would go again, nice one to talk about down the line ‘remember when we went to…’

We have been coming here for many years and probably come at 6 times/year. Food is always very good. Decent menu with plenty of choice. Food is of a high quality, well presented and tasty. Ambience was ok. Service was good ok, although we felt that, whilst nothing went wrong, the staff were not very enthusiastic and were just going through the motions. We will return though. As it is usually like this. Perhaps it’s just the Ianuary blues?!

It was a lovely village pub with good food and nice service. I would go again. they allow dogs in and thought that one or two were very grubby, so not ideal when i was eating my sunday lunch. no wifi or phone service so ideal if your that sort but i would expect a bit of wifi nowadays, we had met with our daughter and fiancee after they have come back off holidays and they were unable to show us their snaps as no wifi or phone signal. the staff were lovely though and heard us mentioning that it was both their birthdays and brought a little icecream with candles in for them - nice touch!

Food was very nice as was the service. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Will definitely be going back, just not beside the door, as every time it opened we got an ice cold blast Definitely a very pleasant pub/restaurant, worth a visit.

Great family meal to finish the Christmas period. Our 14-month old, with a dairy allergy, was very well catered for and loved it!

We have relatives visiting from Australia and so brought them over from Amble for Sunday lunch on New Year's Eve. They were fascinated by the Inn, and the meals were perfect, as always. The staff were very attentative, and our visit was very very good. Thanks to all.

What a gorgeous little find for a New year break! Wish we could have stayed longer. The staff the food the whole place was wonderful! We had an apartment for 1 night just us and our black lab, it was perfect .. will definitely come back again soon
