Our steak was amazing! Service (Rodrigo) was super nice and helpful. He did such a great job presenting us to the menu. The restaurant is pretty. Noise level was above what I prefer for a date night!

Really fun vibe at this new restaurant. My one warning is that we were a group of 6, in our 60s, and we found it a bit loud. So if you're looking for "quiet and intimate" I'd skip this place. Also it was on the pricey side so don't be shocked when the check comes! Great for a special occasion night out.

Second time here, we had a reservation but decided to eat at the bar. We were greeted but waited 15 minutes for anyone to come up to us and actually take our order while we sat at the bar. The service at the bar was below average for the type of restaurant it is considering it was also really empty in the restaurant. I will only continue to come back due to the food being good as well as the drinks, but the service fluctuates a lot so it is a hit or miss unfortunately. Also quite odd how we wanted to continue ordering more food but were told by our server that it was enough food we had ordered for the both of us, from a restaurant perspective you would want your customers to order more. Not the best experience for me as I was also bringing a friend for the first time to this restaurant.

We came for the Mother’s Day Pre-fix menu which gave us the opportunity to try a bit of many food options. We enjoyed everything— notably the whipped eggplant dip and the filet. The woodland place cocktail was outstanding, both presentation and quality. Jessie made our experience. He didn’t make us feel rushed and was always there when we needed him. We will surely be back.

Incredibly slow service even on a day when half the tables were empty. They forgot to bring us the food our kids ordered (mac n cheese and butter pasta), and had to be reminded twice. When it finally came out, it was cold. Very diappointing.

So it was great food and great service. However it was very noisy, great songs, but noisy. You couldn’t really talk since the music was so loud.

Our server was great, she really made sure we’re updated on our orders. Appetizer and main course was great. Steak was cooked just right. Dessert (cheesecake was average but tiramisu was great). Overall it was great. Ive read previews reviews how the music is kinda loud. Maybe turn it down a bit, it is kinda hard to have a conversation with the music cranked up. The songs was great just a bit loud for the scene

The entire evening was an experience. The tableside explanations from our waiter, Rodrigo, on menu selections were detailed and precise. The food was excellent. We had the positano pizza, calamari, hamachi crudo, burrata salad, caesar salad, and ahi tuna tartare as appetizers. They all were very well presented and full of flavor. For the entrees we got the center cut filet and tomahawk. The center cut was so excellently done it exceeded the flavor of the tomahawk in my personal opinion. Either way the meats were done to perfection. We got the mashed potatoes and asparagus as sides. The potatoes were like a whipped brilliance of potato heaven. It doesn't make sense and that's how good they were. Dessert was the flourless chocolate cake with ice cream and that was also delicious. We will definitely go back and that's when you know a restaurant was successful in making your dining experience an unforgettable one when there are so many to choose from.

I found the music to be pretty loud in here, overwhelming actually, not easy to have a convo w table unless ur raising ur voice. It was just two of us and we hd to sit next to each other. Our waiter was great, the somolier? was great (holly??). My New York strip wasnt the best, a lik hard on the ends but was better in the mid if the steak (i dont usually order/eat ny strip), the desert was delicious (ice cream w sauce). Overall good experience but, turn the music down, plz.

So loud we couldn’t talk. Why does a restaurant need a DJ playing super loud music in an echoing box of a room? The food was OK but not worth the sky high price. No no no!

This is a nice addition to the restaurants in La Jolla. We’ve now been twice. The first time was much better and we basically ordered the same things both times. Our server the first time was excellent, but this time the service was chaotic! Restaurant has a cool interior and we will try it again, but I hope they keep improving toward a consistently good experience.

Overall, the meal was great. The prices for steak were a bit high. I got the 12oz bone in filet which had the price of MP on the menu. It was $90. Too damn high. The same steak at Steak 48 which is a much nicer restaurant is 72. My wife had a pasta dish that she loved. The hamachi appetizer was awesome. The wine list is sub par for a place like this with no reserve list. The service was like amateur hour at a nice restaurant. I will definitely return but not for steak.

Beautiful restaurant inside and out. Carpaccio and beet salads were great. Pasta entrees were good, not great. Smaller portions. Wait staff was attentive and polite. GF got a free dessert for her birthday !! They have Gluten free options which is nice.

We loved it. Everything we ordered was delicious. Hamachi crudo, burrata, NY strip, whipped potatoes, chimichurri chicken, sinful chocolate dessert. We can’t wait to go back and try the rest! The service was excellent. The restaurant is beautiful. The only thing we didn’t love was the noise level, but as my husband pointed out, the noise added energy to the place. It wasn’t boring! Maybe it would have been quieter outside for those who are really concerned about that. I would definitely recommend this place.

My husband and I went to Amalfi Llama for the first time. The restaurant is huge and decorated very nicely. The bar was inviting and seats a lot of customers. We ordered 2 cocktails that were amazing (Bellini and purple mezcal drink). We ate thin crust delicious pizza and Caesar salad. Both were delicious. The service was impeccable and the bartenders were hard working. We will definitely return.

Had a late lunch early dinner on a Saturday out on the patio. It was not crowded or noisy. Service was very attentive. Our server Rodrigo was excellent. I did think it was odd that they only gave the cocktail menus when you sat down (to encourage you to order a drink likely). But was going to order a cocktail anyway, so it was fine. We had the empanadas and the burrata appetizer. They were both really good. My husband had a pizza I had branzino. Both of us very much enjoyed our dinners. We finished up with some gelato. Prices were not inexpensive necessarily, but they were not any different than most nicer restaurants that I have been to in the San Diego area. We thought the portions were generous. Overall a great experience.

I decided to celebrate my 50th birthday at the Amalfi llama and I am very pleased with the experience. The service was excellent- Ivan was the best! I ordered the Branzino with Chimichurri, and it was excellent! My friend ordered the mushroom pizza and she loved it. And my other friend ordered pasta it was excellent as well. Drinks were delicious and The Barrata appetizer was delicious.

Service was excellent. Seated quickly, water delivered and drink ordered. Waiter went over his favorites. We started with the artichoke salad (ok but not great) and the calamari (loved it). Shared the truffle pasta (delicious). Ordered the chocolate sin cake (very good). They surprised us with 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream for our celebration (outstanding).

First time at this new restaurant and overall, our experience was mixed-some dishes were great, others not so much. Pricey drinks, $12 focaccia bread ( good but first loaf should have been complimentary ) Caesar salad was very good, spaghetti was boring and somewhat tasteless, steak was ok. Pizza was good. Traditional cheesecake was dry and not what we expected-server was nice enough to remove it from our bill. Service was good. Can’t say we would rush back at this point but maybe down the line…

Beautiful Place, Very Good Service, over all Greta food my only complaint would be the amount of oil on the New York, made it hard to enjoy and even harder to digest. Ambience is energetic and fun. The Prices is what might kill it after a while when the furor dies off and people Don’t feel like $125 for dinner.

We had an excellent expedience, Filet was delicious and cooked to perfection as was the Branzino. Fairly noisy , we’re set at a table in the bar area, don’t take that table, noisy! Will be back, fun spot!

Very attentive waitstaff! Ordered the Tomahawk for two and the crust on the steak was phenomenal. Seasoned well and cooked exactly how we ordered. Also tried the potato puree and the roasted vegetables which paired well with the steak. Would definitely come again to try out the rest of their menu.

The food remains pretty good From the first day we had dinner at the Amalfi to this third time, but the service has changed for the worse. The waiters are hard to find. Overall it is a beautiful restaurant
