Beautiful room, but hotel in midst of repair. Pieces of plaster missing from ceiling on main floor. Buffet for dinner as kitchen in midst of repair. Bar was closed for repair. Buffet dishes constantly empty without replenishment. Cold entrees by the time there were sides available Understaffed, waited interminably for our drinks which I noticed were sitting in the bar forever. You are required to to valet parking and then are charged for it with understaffed valets. Not worth the $65 pp at this point

Food was average. Nothing like the past. When we arrived one of the servers was loudly arguing with the hostess, which seemed odd to do in front of guests. Benefits of a captive audience I suppose.

Really wonderful breakfast buffet with many vegetarian options. Good service as well.

We had a reservation made weeks in advance and we arrived in time of the 8 pm reservation yet we were sat a table in between two waiter serving stations with a window view of a trailer. The pianist was lovely and the taste of the food was nice but we had to wait, standing up for the buffet food (shrimp, asparagus and mashed potatoes) to be replenished. When my husband tried to order beer off the menu the server said several times "were out of that one", 1/2 the beers were unavailable. Cost of the meal was MUCH greater than value. I thought this was supposed to be a fancy hotel with value, felt like they were just trying to make money.

Overpriced and past its prime. I wasn’t prepared for it to be buffet only. Thought we’d have the option to order off of the menu. The alcoholic drink was watered down and extremely overpriced. Our waitress forgot we ordered a drink and brought it at the end of the meal.

Only the buffet available. Pretty much the same every day. Prime rib was good, but that doesn't justify the $63 cost. Service was good. One night there were flies on the flan. Yuk!

I was skeptical about a “fancy” restaurant that was a buffet, but the food was very good. They had four or five meat options several vegetarian options and lots of veggies and salad plus a variety of desserts . The room is beautiful, and there was a piano player for music. There is a dress code of business casual, but it was not enforced. All of us thought it was the best prime rib we have ever had. We will definitely go back someday.

For the history and ambience, it was a great place to go…one of those once in a lifetime places to go that you’ll remember and be glad you did it.

The management of the Ahwahnee has managed to take a spectacular location and property and turn it into a nightmare for quests. There is zero attention to customer service and quality of experience from check in to check out.
